Today a horrible atrocity was committed some time ago. Despite our political differances with one another, and whether this War is a just one or not:

Let us take a little bit of time out of our day to remember all those who died. Let us pray for their family's and pray for the continued safety for all of our fellow Americans here.

Why must dwell in the past, you should cherish the here and now, cause its our present to the future!

Because if one does not learn from the past he is condemned to repeat it in the future.

We had a 1 minute silence in school today (I live in the UK). R.I.P to all the lost lives.

Just out of curiosity, in America do you have 1 minute silence for the innocent deaths on 7/7 in the UK?

This old saying has no logic,we know of our past and we repeat it all the time!

sad how there are only 6 posts before me............it's also sad how many people don't even realize what day it is.. god bless those who lost their lives..I showed my patriotism by living life as usual. Yesterday I woke up and said a prayer to those that lost their lives as I have been for the past 6 years. I went to a good 'ol American White Sox game where we observed a moment of silence also.

Don't think because people don't post means that people have no clue as to what day it is. There is life outside PS3forums.

It's very nice to hear that you guys had a moment of silence, but I really didn't expect other countries outside of the US to hold a moment of silence. I'm actually (pleasantly) surprised by this.

It's not so much showing patriotism as it is just remembering those lost while continuing to live your life as usual (as you said).

Too bad about hearing you going to a Sox game, tho. :P

I didn't mean any disrespect, but you can't let the events completely bring you down. Just trying to lighten the mood a bit is all.

it doesn't bring me down. i just dont think that this is the time to lighten the mood. its a time to remember and for those who care to, pray and whatnot.

just saying that there is a time and a place to lighten the mood and i dont think this mood should be lightened, at least not today when we are reflecting and remembering.

its no big deal just what i said but to get back on topic. i hope all the families made it through the day alright

The only true way to defeat terror is to refuse to be terrorized. If we change the way we live because of them, then they have won and our people will live in fear. We need effective leadership in this country before all is lost. Every troop sitting in Iraq right now is one less person that could have put a bullet in Bin Laden's head while we had a chance..

We have to battle terrorists, when we are struck we have to show resilience and
rise up again and let it not affect us. We should remember and reflect, but we should
not let this hinder our progress and lose hope...which they want.

But we should also show the younger generations in the east who grow to hate the west,
our diplomatic and philanthropic ways, so they know what western culture really means, Democracy, Freedom, and a place where
no one is judged by race or creed.

North America is not a land of Opportunity...it is a land of Equal opportunity.
