The psp graghics power is the same or better than the ps2

One of my class mates in college does not believe that the psp has ps2 graphical power. Can you guys verify that I am right or wrong . Frankly I think they look as good as the ps2. thanks.

Yeah, the graphics of the PSP have a close relation to that of the PS2. I don't have any screens but I've seen them. And believe me, they are those. If you buy one. Show your college mate and gloat in his face. Or something. :wink:

I don't think there are as strong as PS2 but the small screen makes you believe they are. Maybe I'm wrong but what are the specs of the PS2 in relation to the PSP? I know the DS dissapointed me. I hope Tiger Woods on PSP has better sounds then what DS has to offer. Very Very poor sounds, no commentation or music like in PS2.

The DS (IMO) will be a big flop becuase of the PSP's features and power... even thought they are aiming for innovation its starting to kill them selvs off. let hope the 'revoultion' has some good innovation for the next generation...

I heard somewhere that the PSP doesn't have the vector control units which is what the PS2 gets a lot of its power from. It isn't as powerful but is very close.

It doesn't need all the power that the PS2 has in order to make the graphics great. Its such a small screen that all the power isn't need. Why stick a V8 in it when your going just as fast with a V6? Nintendo really needs to think more about what there releasing. They come out first and everyone buys them cause its new. But when the better stuff comes out later on there stuff is absolete and no one wants them anymore.

Nobody really uses the vector units anyway, so no big lose there. The DS is doing good in Japan now and ok here. But in the U.S. we tend to like games that can produce want the PSP can deliver. The only reason we have been buying Nintendo's other handhelds is because it was the only thing out. The PSP will destroy the DS once it's released.

Depending on what game yuo are play I would say that the graphics are the same as the ps2.On Tiger Woods they look good but not as good as the ps2 but I think that Ridge Races and GTP look as good or even better than the ps2.

Actually the Graphics core itself is more powerfull than the PS2 one, but the rest of the PSP isn't as powerfull. and it dont crunch out the same ammount of pixels
i dont know if it's less or more.
And the devs must lset limits on the graphics since it has alimited battery life

yeah GT4 mobile. will have just about the same graphics as it's console counterpart, it will be somewhere inbetween GT3 and GT4

I keep on hearing that most of the screenshots are taken from actual Ps2 games n' such. They say PsP graphics ain't that good! @.@ Im confused! Whats going on?! I think im jus gonna wait til it comes out! Sheesh... But from the screen shots I see here... graphics are like Ps, not ps2. We'll all find out someday...

go there watch some movies its obvious that its not from ps2 games...and if you still think they honestly look like ps1 more than ps2 then go play a ps1 game then a ps2 game then decide which one its closer too lol

It is very close to PS2, but not quite. The small size of the screen makes up for it because you won't be able to see many details. It's a LOT closer to the PS2 gfx wise.

since the PSP has a small screen, it can fool our eyes with lower polygon Environments that still look like PS2 graphics. all i need to know is that the PSP's graphics are great, and remember everyone these great graghics are just from launch titles, so prepare to be amazed with future titles 8)

Exactly, the graphics look very much the same,i just played GT1 and then played GT4 prologue right after it..........wow...PS1 graphics suck....well at that time it didn:)

lol, yeah what an improvement from the PS1 to PS2, and think to PS3!!, but of course the Graphics wont be as good as the PS2 but with the smaller screen it will apear to be almoust the same.
