probably not, but possibly. Mabye with a hack you might be able to, but sony will want you to use their memorystick technology, so ur gunna probably gunna be having to use the overpriced momorystick duo

I'm pretty sure you can. Siren has confirmed that the Xbox 360 allows USB flash drives as memory cards, and since the PS3 supports Compactflash I and II, Memory Stick, and SD cards, and the fact that it will have a Linux OS running on the HDD, I'd say it's safe to assume the PS3 will allow USB Flash drives

I plan on using a usb flash drive to move my game saves from the PS2 memory card to the PS3.

Definately... I reckon it's pretty illogical to not include a memory card slot on the PS3, if only to play PS1/PS2 games... I mean, I would've thought it'd be the first thing they would've thought of when they decided to dispose of the memory card. SD slots, but no memory card slots. Hmmm.
Anyway, I hope you can use USB Pen Drives as memory cards. My 512MB is just sitting there, collecting dust.

I'm sure we'll see all kinds of third party memory gadgets. Ways to use the old memory cards to transfer saves. Ways of hooking up alternate options, I have a 300gb external HDD with firewire connection that I'd love to be able to use with a PS3, make transfering files from comp to console simple.

Hmm...
I had a pretty wacky idea of using my MP3 player as a memory card. Doubt it would work though.
I´ll buy a nice 500 mb memory stick (or whatever) to use as a memory card. (If I need one)

I heard that you will be able to use Memory Stick Duo like in the PSP. Now that would be awesome because I already have a psp.

yeah that's an added bonus for PSP owners, and it's also possible for your PSP to connect to the PS2 and transfer your PS2 save files onto a PSP memory stick duo through the USB connector.
Action Replay is selling the cable for £9.99 don't know how much the American version is though.
Might put my old PS1 and PS2 saves files on the PSP when i get it, or if I find PSP software that allows this.

If you own a PSP, your best option is to buy a Memory Stick Duo because you're getting the most value out of it. If not, then buy a cheaper memory format, either CompactFlash I or II, or SD cards.

IF it comes with a HDD, no what the size. It will be more then enough to hold your saved games.

No kidding! You could just use your PSP to move files! Duh! Why hadn't I thought of that?

Hello,
I am writing this to everyone, to tell you not to buy this product. I bought it to back up my memory cards & free up some space, and ending up losing it ALL!!!! I have one card, that can no longer be used because of the corrupted files, which can't be deleted. And the other card, is now completely blank. I am telling you, from experience, don't buy this product.... You'll be as mad as I am now.
P.S. - And all this happened within 3 minutes of using this product. My MR3 Files & VS Data, are all gone....

The only thing i ended up with when i purchased the Max Drive is a corrupted memory card. Corrupted, as in completely destroyed, useless, lost all my games, throw the memory card on the ground and stomp on it. Actually, the Max Drive is the culprit. Here is my advice: if you need to delete any files from your PS2 Memory Card, do not do it through the Max Drive system disc!! Go into your playstation browser and delete each file directly from there. That is how my memory card got destroyed. I had the Max Drive in my hands for less than 2 minutes and it completely destroyed all the hard work/time i put into my games. not to mention now i have to buy another memory card.
Also, first make a back up of ALL your games. Cuz they can all vanish into thin air, just like that! So people, buy at your own risk! I just paid Datel 30 bucks to ruin all my games.

1 out of 5 stars Max Drive can ruin an entire Memory Card, February 27, 2005

After backing up some of my memory to my PC I went back to use the memory card and the card had said I had no data. That could not have been true because I didn't select every save on that card. There is 5,460 KB available, but as you all know there should be around 8,000 KB and the screen says NO DATA. I can't format the drive and when I try to copy memory to that card it can't. Now I out an 8 MB memory card that I can no longer use. I don't recommend this product and I've destroyed hours invested gameplay in minutes. I had the Playstation One Datel DEXDRIVE and that went out me me as well and I should have expected the same from this product.

1 out of 5 stars The best way to ruin memory cards!, December 25, 2004

This device looked really good until I started using it. I used the memory manager that came with it to delete some saves from a nearly full card and it deleted ALL of the files on the card, not just the ones I wanted deleted. PLUS, as an added bonus, it DIDN'T free up the memory!
Merry Bleeping Christmas, Datel!
I thought this would be the perfect solution for the backup of my saves but after i have read some reviews of this unit i would call this product rather a piece of useless junk than a suitable solution ;(
I guess the manufacturer took care of this issue after some time but how can you know that you have not bought the faily one...
LOL, imagine losing your precious GT4 save with all the cars and tracks unlocked or RE4 save with your beloved equipment (handcannon, other weapons maxed etc...)
I am just playing DQ8 and i am quite far (40 hours of play) and if i would lost my save game i would be on a killing frenzy after gone totally mad !!!
(OK, before my transition to a psychic maniac with ripped out hair i would have thrown the DS2-Controller against the wall to prove its stability attribute (hehe, after being thrown many times against a hard and solid surface the controller's stability attribute has increased from 10 to 100, to put it in the language of a RPG gamer ^^)
Ok, enough of this...but i would not like to be in the skin of those guys who have lost their saves due to this "MAX (bugged) USB Drive"!
