I'm currently enrolled in Intro. to business in my community college, graduated May 29th YAY!! CLASS OF 007!!!, and we were discussing corporate ethics. We also discussed the different generations we are in. Like I was born in the Boomerang Generation. Each person born in each generation has a different set of ethics they go by. After listening to the new IGN is AFK podcast talking about ethics in the entertainment industry and why some older generations look at the violence in games like ManHunt 2 as bad but still not horrid but then add in the pron in the game and game becomes a distasteful vial thing that is so unethical to have even been created.
I want to know what your opinions on these matters are. How has ethics changed over time and when will things like whats in ManHunt 2 will just be laughed at and seen as a game then a "Murder Sim" (stolen from Jack Thompson)?
To clarify: This is about ethics all over the board not just one subject.

Are we talking about business ethics or ethics in general? You were kind of confusing.
If you want to talk about business ethics, then research the Wal-Mart scandal involving company owned real estate property. Apparently, some of the land that Wal-Mart stores are built on is owned buy a real estate subsidiary of Wal-Mart. The company was writing off real-estate taxes and such on it's tax returns, when in fact it wasn't paying any taxes at all because the money was staying within the company.

Well, in that case, you have a lot of books to buy and a lot of reading to do. May I suggest "Metaethics, Normative Ethics, and Applied Ethics" by James Feiser? ISBN: 0-534-57384-3

Here is a good one to start out with.
Recently, some kids that have built up their reputations by tagging city landmarks were caught. their punishment was a $10,000 fine. Is it "right" to fine these kids that much money considering that they come from low income families? The city said that the cost of cleaning the graffiti was $10,000, and that's why they were fined that particular amount.

Is it really that we dont care or is it because we see things differently then other generations? I might not consider something to be bad as the older generations do, for example it seems the older generation are against same sex marriages yet a lot of people who are just starting to be able to vote or still cant vote yet all see it as its their choice to marry another male or female.

The fine is right due to who society is at the moment but the act itself could be right or wrong mattering their reasons for doing it.
