Shop: Inventory Items - Need Ideas

What would you guys like to see as purchasable items in the shop? Basically the best ideas will be made specially and added to the shop. The sort of things that we are looking for are things that reward constant contributions to the boards, but also ideally, but not necessarily tie in with PlayStation or Console gaming. All ideas welcome!

but seriousely, what about the ability to change your username? (if it's not already done)...actually allow that one, people could get confused by different usernames of the same person.

Maybe, more user tags?....we already have the ELITE tag, how about some more?

I'm talking about items for the 'Item Shop' not the 'Special effects' shop DDS or Tags as you put it.

The ability to change your username would just confuse everyone. If someone wants to change their username they must seeks special approval from the Admin.

Basically things like the elite stamp. What else could we include :?:

maybe there could be cult type items that only someone into that particular thing would buy, what i mean by cult type things is just as you have cult things like films etc you get cult games, like Halo, GT, Tomb raider until the last game lol, MGS etc etc, and for each one you could have a item somehow related to those games

maybe like a master item and thne you can type in the name of the game in which u consider yourself a master in and it shows up under your name.

well, ive said this idea twice already but no one said what they think of it, so for the last time (i promise) ill tell you my idea: maybe we can buy smileys...so we can use them in our messages. I think that would be a good idea, maybe even a "great" one.

You could also sell new smileys so we have a bigger variety...

Thats a good idea Fman, but I don't know how to go about implementing it. I will do a bit of research though to see whether its feasible.

Those things with the pics with the description of 'Im a ...... fan' have peeed me of. You just happened to sell them of my very favourite games. GT, Halo and MGS. Which takes away all my skill points (which is not a good thing.)

more color variations for names. I noticed in the test color area that when you change colors it jsut changes the the Inner Text color. You cant change the Glow color at all and there isnt an option for a glow color. In the Test Text area it always shows up as Red Glow around whatever color you chose.

Buy a bigger avatar maybe or bigger sig limitations would be an idea.

Buy yourself anouther Star on the Member rating would be cool. It would have to be scalable though. Like the 6th star is WAAY more than the second star ect.

Buy a symbol to go under your signature. Basicly take one of those WWW, MSN, ICQ symbols and turn it into something PS3 related and ahve it sit there.

Buy colored text. Meaning you dont have to set the color everytime you post, its jsut automaticly set that way for your account.

wow, lots of ideas, i like most of them axcept 1...the one i dont like is "Buy a bigger avatar maybe or bigger sig limitations would be an idea"...IMO the size of the avatat should be limited since if the avatar gets too big it gets annoying especially if you dont like how the person's avatar looks.

yes rebon and morpheous are still working on that, but i agree with E-Z,i think we should put back the glows, they were cool :wink:

Ooh anouther idea i got to kinda combat spammers is that you dont get Any points unless you type 5 words or more. i dunno how you would impliment this but im sure there is a way

and how about a better elite tag, the one you guys have now is very simple and doesnt make people think "This guy is a good respected member" when they see it at first glance >.<

Yep, I will make a new FF item now. As for the elite item, I agree it needs some improving, which I will probably do sometime soon. Good suggestions Dragonlance.

i posted this before, but im not sure if you read it either lol...well, maybe a GTA stamp, and a Ps2, Ps1, Xbox, Gc, and other system stamps, so we can tell who has what system.

Yea - GTA is hard to make look good, but I will have a go.

As for consoles - thats also a good idea - but at the moment the viewtopic.php inventory is limited to only 5 items. However you can still see the rest of peoples items by clicking on the word 'items' or 'more'.

aww, too bad, well, if eventually you cant fix that, then maybe try to make it so that we can choose which "staps" we want showing (in other woers, rearranging 'em)...thats "IF" you cant fix it...

Okay, a question about the shop. Do you pick the colors and then buy the thing or buy the effects and then pick your colors? I can't pick my colors. You should be able to make it so people could pick different colors ever after the bought the thing.

Hope you could change it. Because I don't want to lose an extra 2500 or what ever its at now.

i think you buy a color and then own it for as long as your here at the forum. for istance you buy 3 glow colors and you can switch between them since u own them. least thats the way it works on other forums. wait for morpheus

You can only own one colour at a time. Same applies for Glows and Shadows. My advice is give it sometime before you splash out a load of points on colours and glows becuase I still think the whole colour/glow system is a bit low quality and too unfinished. I will try and improve it when I have time, but I am very busy at the moment.

He's not the only one. Hasn't anyone noticed my white glow? I'm not really surprised no one's noticed it - it's pretty damn hard to see. lol :roll:

I have an idea though that there should be FREE PS3 Forum signatures available for use by anybody once they have bought the priviledge to have a signature. Its kinda sad to see so many people w/o signatures just because they dont have an image editing tool other than MS Paint.

It be good advertsing aswell because these same ppl may wish to use them at other forums.
