As you may already know by the massive media coverage, Tony Blair is to stand down as the British Prime Minister on the 27th of June, making way for Gordon Brown.

Speculation is rife that Gordon Brown and Tony Blair are mortal enemies (mostly down to the agreement that was portayed in Channel 4's 'The Deal' docu-drama) and that Tony Blair would rather see David Cameron, leader of the opposing party the Conservatives, in power than Brown.

What is your view on Gordon Brown becoming the British Prime Minister?

Does Brown have the personality and wit to deflect criticism during Prime Minister's Questions? Will Brown's disastrous Tax Credit scheme and the collapse of pension funds pave the way for a massive Labour defeat in the next general election?

Will the English nation accept a Scotsman as their Prime Minister?

So many questions!

These are exciting times for politics.

it's good news i suppose.
He took so long to step down my interest in who is in control of the labour party and the country has literally dissapeared.

In my eyes Gordon Brown has lost all credibility, a man who praises Blair for his ten years in leadership when in reality he has been gunning for his job from day one and as shown very little loyalty to his superior. On numerous occasions Blair has taken harsh criticism (quite often justified I must say) but where was Brown to show support? Hiding in Westminster no doubt. He was quite clearly incompetent as Chancellor and as Prime Minster he’ll continue to drive the UK deeper into stealth taxation. Emigration suddenly seems tempting! I predict his time as PM will be brief, ousted from his position in the 2009 elections.

Will the English nation accept a Scotsman as their Prime Minister? Funny you should mention that, most people are unaware that our current Prime Minister was actually born in a little place call Edinburgh.

Blair was a very good government figure. He was very smart in the way he ran things.

Good ridens as far as I'm concerned.

He and his cabinet made so many promises during his 'reign' and yet they got very little done, he plainly lied over Iraq and yet still got re-elected and he is respeonible for the death of Dr David Kelly as far as I'm concerned (in one way or another)

Personally I'm looking foward to Gordan as he looks like he might be able to get stuff done (unlike Cameron who seems to me like another Blair but with a different ribbom).
