Nobody knows if Russell is going to Oakland or not. They could very well take CJ and deal off Moss for an above average QB.

CJ is the ONLY sure thing in this draft. Also, Brady Quinn is hardly better than Jamarcus Russell, that had to have been a joke. Brady Quinn folds under pressure like pressed flowers and wet paper.

I don't know why people find the NFL draft so "great". I can't stand the 15 minute wait. Its boring basically. But its nice to see who goes where in the end though.

There is never a "sure" thing when it comes to the NFL. The first, second, third and so on could be busts. Its luck, and great scouting. Plus its up to the players themselves to push it to the next level. Those that due stay around, and could become greats.

I want the steelers to trade Faneca to the cards for to swap from 15 to 5. At this time trade a 4th and 5th round pick to swap with the Bucs and take Calivn Johnson!

But hey, who am I... a draft guru?

6'5/238lbs/43"Vert/4.3 40/A+ Hands.

Calvin Johnson is regarded by almost every single analyst out there as the only "sure" thing in this draft. The kid is humble, has NO ego, team first player, and has freak of nature capabilities. He's 5 inches taller than the average DB height, he's faster than the average DB, his vertical is the highest in the NFL for a WR and for a DB, and his hands are unquestionably the best in the NFL Draft. I would bet a mortgage, 3-years salary, and my future kids on the fact that barring injury, this kid is the real deal athlete coaches dream about once in a generation. He is Randy Moss+Terrell Owens without the headaches.

That would never happen. 15+Faneca isn't even close enough in value to get up to the 5th pick in the draft. Just by the "draft Board point scale" it would be an impossibility. Also, trading from 5 to 4, would take AT LEAST an added 3rd round pick THIS year and possibly a 4th round pick NEXT year as well... If not more...

Oakland has a problematic child in Jerry Porter who refuses to play for them. Randy Moss who they want to trade and has become nothing but a distraction. Calvin Johnson is all about the team around him, and the Raiders need to do something drastic and smart by bringing in a kid from the draft they can build the franchise around, who wants to be there.

Detroit won't draft Calvin. Roy Williams is their #1 guy and will continue to be so because he is a beast of a WR. Mike Furrey proved last year he is more than capable of being a #2 WR in the NFL. Matt Millen will not draft a 4th WR in the first round in 5 years after the problematic headaches and disappointments he has received from Charles Rogers and Mike Williams. Joe Thomas is a strong possibility and so is Adrian Peterson, since they seem to be losing patience with Kevin Jones and the way he is progressing. He has yet to play a full season of football, he has only averaged over 4 YPC once in his career and he has never exceeded 6 touchdowns on the ground. He is starting to become a liability.

I say Detroit goes with either Joe T or AP.

We did see the Texans **** up like that last year.

Texans didn't screw up. Runningbacks are a dime-a-dozen. You can find a rb almost anywhere now-a-days. If Mario Williams blossoms into a solid DE, it will have been a brilliant pick. Great DE's are hard to find.

@^^ Its not out of the question the Lions take Calvin Johnson as draft leverage with a team like the Bucs.

@ Person who thinks Quinn is good ...he's not he couldnt win a big game in college and in the pro's it'll be worse for him

@ Person that thinks the draft is boring ...its takes a hardcore fan to be able stand Mel Kiper and the long waits

@ At person that want Faneca to be traded , I dont want to see that happening Id rather them sign him a long term deal

@ Person that said you never know what you'll get , that is true example in point

Charles Rogers top 5 less than 50 career catches currently unemployed
Marques Colston 4 picks from not being drafted and already surpassed Rogers in catches in 1 season

Another Example

Ryan Leaf Top 5 pick , had like 14 tds and 40 ints
Tom Brady 6th rd choice and is Top 5 QB with 3 sb rings

As for the steelers Id like to see them go LB , G , WR on the first day.

Ok finally i found a thread on this. Time to put my ESPN draft knowledge and wisdom on the Detroit Lions, my team that always finds a way to screw it up.

First of all if Oakland passes on Calvin Johnson i really hope that the Lions do take him because we really only have one reciever that is an outside guy and that is Roy Williams. Mike Williams is i guess not being given the chance to perform and Mike Furrey is too short to play on the outside. Calvin Johnson is a once in a franchise pick but everyone knows that the Lions are going to pass on him anyway and we'l watch him go into the Hall of Fame and be the next Jerry Rice. But enough with him.

So we know that the Lions are going to pass on Calvin Johnson. Ok my next pick would be to draft Adrian Peterson another kid that could just dominate the NFL if he stays healthy. He is a special player and even though he broke his collarbone i dont think that wil affect his playing. Kevin Jones is out for maybe the whole season with that foot injury. Ok so we picked up Tatum Bell from Denver and TJ Duckett. We lost Cory Schlesinger which i couldnt believe when i heard that news. But anyway having a superstar running back is what Detroit has needed ever since Barry Sanders retired.

Here are the reasons NOT to draft Joe Thomas or Gaines Adams. The Lions have picked up at least 3 lineman in the offseason. They are all pretty decent players and are experienced in the NFL. So we have offensive lineman which isnt a problem area anymore but I really believe that the Lions will draft him anyway.
As for Adams i really dont believe he will be a big enough impact player. I dont want the Lions to make a mistake like Houston did last year by passing up Bush, Young, Cutler and Leinart to pick a guy that didnt do anything last year.

Now i would really like to swap picks with Cleveland because they really want either Adrian Peterson or Brady Quinn. If we swap places with them then we'll probably get their 4th or 5th round draft pick which could be convenient. We already have 3 5th round picks from Denver and the team we gave James Hall to. (That was a ripoff trade. He is way better than a 5th round draft pick)

Haha Brady Quinn dropped to number 22 overall. Cleveland has had a pretty good first round getting Joe Thomas AND Brady Quinn. They traded their second round pick of this year And their first round pick of next year to Dallas for the 22nd overall pick.

Im happy for the Browns. On the other hand looks like the Lions are going to keep my boy Calvin Johnson.

Alan Branch still hasnt been takin as of yet so i hope they pick him up at number 34.

O and we get screwed over again when we give Oakland McCown AND Mike Williams for an f'in 4TH ROUND PICK. That is right a fourth round pick. An ex-starter and a top ten pick from 2 years ago for a fourth round pick.

HaHA you actually think Brady Quinn is the 1st best QB in the draft? He is the most overrated person in the entire draft and he went when he should've gone, 22nd overall. He sucked against Michigan, OSU, and they lost their bowl game. he cannot deliver in big game situations. Mainly cuz Charlie Wies is a dumass but still. I am happy for the Browns

We got Tatum Bell and one of their offensive lineman for a mal-content player. My second fav. team is the Patriots because Tom Brady is a Wolverine for life and U of M is awesome

:suspect:

You must be joking...
Tatum Bell is ok until its third and short/goal. You will never see him make either of those...

Foster is Lazy... which is why he got benched in favor of a guy 10 years older than him.

Personally I think it was a pretty even trade.
Besides... Detroit won't be doing anything anytime soon.

I am going to quote myself because i guess people dont read. This was written friday night before the draft just to let everyone know. The Lions picked up 3 lineman in the offseason that are experienced in the NFL. I am happy with Calvin and extatic for Drew Stanton. The other two people that i have never heard of is crap. That guy from Hawaii i have never heard of.

AND WHY DID WE TRADE AWAY OUR 2ND ROUND PICK TO THE BILLS!!!!! WE NEEDED A MIDDLE LINEBACKER OR A DEFENSIVE TACKLE. Millen is a dumbass.

O and we get screwed over again when we give Oakland McCown AND Mike Williams for an f'in 4TH ROUND PICK. That is right a fourth round pick. An ex-starter and a top ten pick from 2 years ago for a fourth round pick.
Horrible deal Millen i hope you get fired. Only good move was Stanton and Johnson everything else you suck

Yes but Mcnown is garbage wasnt going to start over Kitna and Williams is a bust and shouldnt of been drafted in the Top 10 ...kinda like Ted Ginn shouldnt have either.

I agree that we wont be doing anything soon as long as Ford is our owner. But if you have been paying attention then you would've know that we picked up T.J. Duckett and we can just give him the ball on 3rd and short or goal. I am still pissed that the Lions got rid of Cory Schlesinger though:cuss Damn you Millen

The head coach of the Raiders was the offensive coordinater of USC. Mike Williams played for him when Mike was there and he was awesome. So Mike is back with his old offensive coordinater and he has a fresh start as a Raider. I personally think that we will be a good receiver at Oakland and with Randy Moss gone, he could be a #1 reciever over there.

Oakland doesnt have a QB except Russel which i believe will start the whole season unless something goes wrong. McCown is a good backup in my opinion so we'll see how it works out.

A 1-2 RB punch is certainly a must with Tatum...
I'm just saying don't get too excited about him... he proved to be quite underwhelming here. Big play potential- but durability, toughness, and fumble issues killed him.

I understand. I like Kevin Jones but he's likely to be out for the rest of the season. He's just a replacement for now.

But dont be too thrilled about Dre Bly either though. I got sick of him when he was complainging about Joey Harrington 2 years ago and last year when he didnt like our new head coach. He also just tries to do too much. Like after he picks a ball off he'll try to pitch it to someone or take it out of the endzone when there really is no play. Im just saying watch out

in my opinion the bears got the steal of the the draft by picking up garett wolfe a RB from NIU in the 3rd and 93 overall
he led the nation in rushing and fast as all get out hes only 5'7 but stong as an ox
although he only ran a low 4.5 at the combine that was on a tender ankle
i think most teams skipped over him becasue he went to NIU and didnt play in a very good conference but he ran for 170 yards against the number 1 team at the time OSU
I just dont see hoe he could have dropped this far
but i aint complain because now the bears have the most elusive back in the draft
