I find it ruins the experience of a game to use cheats, well until you've beaten it anyways. Then its a great laugh to go round shooting people with inflated heads and the like

I always play out games the best I can before going for the cheats. I usually just wait untill Im bored of playing the game in a regualar fashion then resort to cheats for some fun.
Seb
February 9th, 2004, 11:31 PM
Yea 'bored' is a key word here. I agree that cheats shouldn’t be used until you've completed the game, but this isn't always the case. I got so completely frustrated with GTA Vice City. I reached a point in the game where you have to earn loads of cash to buy new cribs in order to get the next missions. I was so frustrated and bored with this stupid cash system in the game I just didn’t want to play it anymore. The game became very boring, and cheats rejuvenated my passion for the game, and I eventually got around to earning the cash I needed. My point is, that had it not been for cheats I would never have gone back to the game and completed it, therefore cheats don’t always ruin games.
Cheats ruin poor games, which were never worth cheating for anyway. Games that are badly designed and don't make you want to play by the rules and that lack that special something are the ones people usually spoil by cheating. It's really the developers fault for making the game too hard or boring. I felt that GTA had the 'special something' I was referring to, but I think the stupid money thing in GTA VC ruined the flow of the game. Cheats can be hugely fun, like Rebonuk said, paintball modes (Goldeneye + most other FPS's), and flying vehicles (GTA) etc. Cheats are immensely popular, otherwise developers wouldn’t put them in their games, and people want to be able to have the extra freedom cheats give them.
Bottom Line: Cheats are a good thing but need to be used wisely for example it’s probably not best to use cheats till you've finished the game you’re playing. 8)

are there any cheats for gta vice city where you can play 2 players? someone told me that it was possible but im a little sceptic about it

No, you definately can't play two player on GTA VC. You could try sharing half a pad each lol :)

Blake
April 16th, 2004, 06:23 PM
Maybe PS3 then...
gaming ultima
April 16th, 2004, 07:33 PM
yea but if they take the ps3 to its limits in RAM capacity and so on then the same prob will happen. but if they design the game for players to be able to play it 2 player in the first place then year it would work and it would be soo cool.
1 thing which i think they should do for the ps3 is make a gta online which like FFXI uses a HDD (either a build in 1 or a add on 1) for decreased loading times and a huge map, and each server would only have 1 map say 100 times (or more the size of vc) in fact if its installed on the ps3 hdd then u could make it 1000 times the size quite easily. that would be so cooooooooooooooooll!!!!!!!!! :D :D
Seb
April 17th, 2004, 01:03 PM
Yea that would be gaming Nirvana. However if RAM wasn't an issue then the developers time to make the map would be. 1000 times VC world take Rockstar a lifetime using conventional means. However if the gamers could make their own maps and upload them, as long as they were approved by Rockstar as worthy as joining the GTA world then that would be one way around it. Imagine designing your own gangs and territory. It makes me drool just thinking about it.

Hint: Online Strategies for Foxhunt
The following are strategies for both teams (seal and terrorist on the level Foxhunt.
Seals
Option 1: Overlook and Defend
Preferred Weapons: M4A1 (SD), M16A2 (M203), M63A, SR-25 (SD), M87ELR. Have team members defend the hostages by overlooking them. Position members next to river, inside bunker at the hill to the left, and crouched near the hostages to take out any enemy members coming by. Remember: Enemies may try to fire at hostages from far away so set up a sniper that can run the field and snipe from left area and right area.
Option 2: River Extract
Preferred Weapons: M4A1 (SD), M63A. The necessity of this option is speed and stealth. You don't want the enemy knowing you're taking this route. Extract quickly. Take all three hostages to the left where the river starts. Bring about two additional teammates. Follow river with one teammate in front and the other covering the back. Go to the extraction point on left and have teammates cover in bushes. Beware of enemy snipers.
Option 3: Land Extract
Preferred Weapons: M4A1 (SD), SR-25 (SD), M63A. This is probably the best option for extracting but the hardest without cooperative team participation. Bring all three hostages to the right side and about three-four teammates. Go slow, if you're seen, you're Dead. Find the first cover area (wall) and pass it. Go to the next cover area (wall with corners) and stop. Make sure hostages are against the wall and teammates are unseen and stay crouched. Allow team B to take out some of the enemies. After a while leave position and follow along the right side of the mountain until you reach the extraction point.
Terrorist:
Option 1: Hidden Snipers
Preferred Weapons: 552 (SD), SASR, SR-25 (SD), M82A1A. Highest advantage when with characters wearing anything brown. (not Puis) Use sniper rifles with a higher fire rate. The faster you take your enemy down, the easier. Set up snipers at both extraction points. Stay in a covered area. Set up a sniper next to the first bunker taking cover. Position the rest of the snipers along the mountainside to take out anyone coming forth.

Hint: SOCOM Steady-Shot
When you absolutely, positively need that first strike stealth kill, players normally call up the sighting view (i.e., using the scope). Unfortunately, the player's scope view will always be "flawed" and a sure shot is not always the case.
Here's how to make the scope view more steady. When the crosshairs are over the target's head (or what ever you want to shoot at), press SQUARE to bring up the command menu. You will (barely) be able to see if you are on target or not. If not, exit the menu and repeat the process, but if you are on target, order the team to do something that won't amount to much like "get down" or "hold position".
Now you highlight the command, press and hold X and you will fire as you leave the command menu, hitting the target where you want.
Submitted by - Charlie George
Hint: Steady Sniping
Whenever you first go into scope mode in the game, the crosshair will always bounce around. If you're patient and wait it out for a few seconds, the scope will settle completely, allowing you to get perfect, easy headshots. The length of time it takes for the crosshairs to settle depends on what position you're in. Prone takes less time, Crouching more time, and standing takes the most.
Submitted by - Josh1984
Hint: Third-Person Night Vision
When playing online you can use your night vision googles and still be in the third person perspective. This allows you to see much more that you normally would in first person. To do it, hold down select so that the scoreboard is displayed. While the button is depressed push UP, UP, DOWN, UP. If done correctly night vision should be on and you can still see your character. (Sometimes you have to keep pressing up and down a few times for it to work.)

does any1 have any cheats for burnout 3??
BURNOUT 3: TAKEDOWN CODES (PlayStation 2)
• Change song
While playing a game, hold L2 + R2 to advance to the next song.
• Quick start
Hold the gas while tapping the brakes to get your tires smoking. When the countdown is between "1" and "Go", release the gas, then press it again.
• Easy takedown
As soon as any race begins, immediately get behind the nearest opponent and hold Boost. You will start getting "Tailgating" points and will receive a short boost. Use this boost to quickly slam your opponent. This will result in a takedown about 90% of the time and will immediately fill your entire boost bar.
• Easy money in Crash mode
At the main menu, select "Single Event" and choose "Crash Mode". Select "Junction 19", "Tuk Down", and "Muscle Type 1" as your car. Do the quick start at the beginning. Drift and collect either the gold or silver (it is possible to collect both of them). Smash through the boxes avoiding the wall, into the boost and up evenly on the jump, avoiding the heart-breaker to your right. Collect the x2 multiplier and after touch, making sure you try to land evenly without hitting any boxes. Slide into the Crashbreaker, and get to the x4 multiplier past the buses in aftertouch. If you get knocked out of the way by the buses, wait until you stop and press Crashbreaker. Aim in the direction of the x4 multiplier. If you miss, you always have the x2 as a fail safe. It is possible to get $1,500,000 to $1,750,000. Repeat this, and do not select "Retry"; as all the money adds up to the total score.
Go to the junction titled "On-Rampage". Using the largest car you have will work the best. Getting the quick start at the beginning is not required, but it does help. If possible, grab the silver or bronze pick-ups, then pick up the 4x multiplier and hit the car that is closest to the yellow strip on the road in the oncoming lanes. Use aftertouch to try to stay in the spot that you hit that car. Wait until there are two or three seconds remaining, then use your crashbreaker to explode. Try to take out the gas tankers with the explosion. It is possible to get $1.8 million to $2.5 million.
• Move after you have stopped in crash mode
After you have peofrmed your crash, save the Crashbreaker and look around to see if there are items or more cars you can hit. Use the Crashbreaker, and guide yourself with R1 and the D-pad to where ever you want to go. This can move you pretty far, and can get you over trailers and big trucks.
• Unlocking cars
Choose your favorite track in world tour mode and race it repeatedly (do not retry). Continue, then repeat. Additionally, find a stage or track in world tour mode that you can get a lot of money from. Keep playing that track until you have unlocked the next car in your line-up.

Really, there is almost no use for this thread now... Hmmm... I remember when I had the first nintendo with the game genie, and me and my brother and sister experimented with different codes and made a whole bunch of super mario bros 3 codes. We had a weird Yoshi/Boot/brown/etc. converted Mario that could walk in air and couldn't go down any pipes, and the world was changed... I guess due to the lack of memory you could do stuff like that to your old games...

sorry to ask again but do you have any cheats for "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater"?
FmanFORPS3
December 30th, 2004, 09:18 PM
ok here are some:
This guide includes:
Movement and Combat: Navigate the perils of the forest like an expert. Keep Snake healthy and geared to take down his enemy.
Walkthrough: We've provided a detailed description of how to best navigate each area. Snake has a lot of options, but some of the less obvious paths will reward him with a speedy victory.
Food and Curing: A list of every edible item in the game along with their effects. We also have tips for treating Snake's wounds.
Weapons: Weapons options go far beyond the survival knife, you just have to know where to get them.
Hints, Secrets, and Frogs: Snake eater is simply jam packed with secrets. Almost every area in the game hides a useful item or one of the elusive frogs.
Cheat: Prison Cell
When the clip in the torture room ends, The Sorrow is in the background holding a sign that reads 144.75. Put that code into your radio when you’re in the prison cell. It unlocks the door! That’s pretty good for a girl who just watches her boyfriend play video games all day long!
Another way to escape the prison cell Snake is being held in is to go into the menu and do the Snake viewer and start spinning him around. When you return to the game Snake should puke on the ground, the guard sees this and comes in, giving Snake the opportunity to knock him out.
Cheat: Radio Frequencies
140.01 - Salty Catfish / 66 Boys
140.52 - Rock Me Baby / 66 Boys
141.24 - Sea Breeze / Sergei Mantis

Unlockable: Moss Camouflage
When fighting The End, if you sneak up behind him when he is asleep and hold him up, he shakes down and will eventually give you the camouflage moss.
Unlockable: Nightmare Mini-Game
After Snake's torture, you can save the game. If you load this save in another game, a sword fighting mini-game will begin.
Hint: Anger Volgin
When fighting Volgin the first time you can wear the Ivan’s mask and he will think you are the major and hesitate from attacking you. You will have a chance to shoot him a few times without him attacking. He will realize who you are after a while and become angry and attack more frequently.
Hint: Cancel Alert Frequencies
Alert: 149.46
Alert: 140.61
Alert: 141.45
Alert: 146.67
Alert: 141.98
Alert: 142.79
Hint: Fire Support
In the mountain areas of MGS3 (after you defeat "The End") you can interrogate a guard he will tell you a secret radio frequency that will cause his fellow troops to give cover fire. This doesn't exactly help snake but is still cool to see. The frequency is 147.90, it has to be in the mountain areas and you can only do it once.
Hint: Fire Support Frequencies
Fire Support: 141.62
Fire Support: 142.12
Fire Support: 147.32
Fire Support: 148.56
Fire Support: 146.74
Fire Support: 141.31
Fire Support: 149.29
Fire Support: 145.68
Fire Support: 147.90
Fire Support: 140.09
Hint: Hidden R1 Scenes
Secret 1: When there's the animation with Volgin beating Tatyana, Boss sending The Fear to kill you, The End is there in a wheel chair, etc. When the Boss says: "The Sorrow, is that you?". It gives you a R1 notice, but you're zooming on The Boss. Move the camera to the right to see The Sorrow.
Secret 2: When you kill Volgin on the Shagohad and Eva is about to kiss you, hold R1. You won't get any notice, but it works. You're going to see The Sorrow standing in the background.
Secret 3: After you killing The Boss, once the horse is there, hold R1. You won't get any notice, but it works. You're going to see The Boss spirit with The Sorrow.
Secret 4: When you're shaking hands with the President, hold R1. You won't get any notice, but it works anyway. Move the camera to the left to see Ocelot doing his trademark taunt from the window.
Secret 5: When Big Boss is standing in front of The Boss's grave, hold R1. You won't get any notice, but it works anyway. You're going to see the complete Graveyard.
Secret 6: When Ocelot is leaving the Torture Room, Press R1. You won't get any notice, but it works anyway. You're going to see The Boss doing Ocelot's taunt.
Hint: Infinite Face Paint
Beat the game in less than five hours to attain Foxhound ranking and receive the infinite face paint.
Hint: Maintenance Disguise
If you need help planting the bombs in the Shagohad hanger there's a disguise that will help; before entering the main wing, search through all the lockers in the locker room of the east wing (try the fourth row to the right) and you will find the uniform maintenance. Combined with the Raiden mask you can use this in the Shagohad hanger and enemies will leave you alone. Just try not to attract the other workers' attention.
Hint: Make The Pain Easier
Use the shotgun against the Pain, it will blow the bees away. Also, a smoke grenade is effective.
Hint: Ocelot Time Paradox
After the cut scene where you first meet Ocelot, knife him to death. Once you kill him the game over screen will pop-up and say "OCELOT IS DEAD." Cambell will then yell at Snake for creating a time paradox.
Hint: Prison Cut Scene
When the guard throws the food in, throw it back. After doing this 3 times, you'll get a cut scene. He'll also give you an item that should make the escape a little easier.
Hint: Raiden Poster
When you steal Raikov's outfit in Groznyg Grad you hide Raikov's body in a locker room on the 2nd floor. Once you take his body in the room, a cut scene will start showing snake putting Raikov's body in a locker. If you look closely, you can quickly see a poster of Raiden from MGS2 on the inside of the door of the locker. This is the locker that contains the sneaking suit later.
Hint: Skip The End
In the cut scene when you see The End in a wheelchair, quickly get your gun out (use the sniper rifle if you have it) and shoot his head before he gets back inside the building.
When you arrive to "Sokrovenno" you won't be confronted by The End, instead you'll be confronted by Ocelot Soldiers. Each area, (I.E. North, West, South) will consist of several soldiers and one sniper. Just make your way north towards Krasnogorje Tunnel.
Hint: Snake Pukes
Spin snake in circles in the cure menu to make Snake throw up.
Hint: The End Dies
If you save the game while in battle with "The End" and then reset your PS2 and go into the system setup menu and adjust the system clock for one week later, you will reload the game and snake sneaks up on "The End" to find out that he has died of old age!
Hint: The End's Parrot
When you come to the first area to fight "the end", there is a crumbled stone wall in front of you with "the ends" parrot sitting on it. Kill the parrot and hear what "the end" has to say. You can then chow down on the bird.
Hint: The Three Snakes
In the last Boss battle between you and The Boss, there are three logs, check all of them, you should recover three snakes, each pure white. The Snakes’ names will be, Snake Liquid, Snake Solidus, and Snake Solid.
Hint: Title Screen Fun
On the title screen the L3 button changes the pattern in the background. R1 speeds up action and R2 slows it down. L1 switches the black silhouette from the foreground to the background and L2 changes the color of the silhouette. L3 changes the color of the pattern in the background.
Easter Egg: Movie
After you're through with the torture and you're in your cell, leave the transmitter in that's lodged in you rather than extract it with the knife. When you get to the cave with Eva, you'll see a funny cut scene.
but u know, evolution once gave us a list of lots and lots of places you can find cheats, here is is
