I was up late with my friend discussing about stuff including this article (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/573/573525p1.html) and I though of Soulcalibur 2 on PSP. And if Sc2 can be on PSP, why not other fighting games? Why? Sc2 fans wanted online feature on SC2 and it might be possible with PSP's connectivity feature. The problem with it would be the size but wasn't the discs for GC smaller than 4.7GB which would mean the size of the game is actually less than 4.7GB or is everything minimized somehow to fit in that disc. The other problem is it might not work on PSP. About other games, it'd be nice to see Virtua Fighter 4 on PSP which lets you to continue to unlock costumes and accessories then you can upload it to VF4 on PS2, and maybe the same with Tekken 5.
All of this probably would sound unrealistic, but it'd be nice to see it in reality. Hopefully, the sequels to those games (Yes! I'm thinking of Tekken 6) will have that.

None of that sounds unrealistic. The games are created differently on the PSP to efficiently make use of the UMD storage size. It would be very cool to see a game like Soul Calibur on the PSP, especially with an online feature. That'd be some sweet online action ;)

Understand that the PSP runs in a lower resolution and on a smaller display than the PS2 generally does. This means that they can get away with lower quality textures and still have the games look pretty good. I highly doubt the size of the UMD will be a limiting factor for many if any games outside of those with a lot of FMV (and even then, it will be in significantly lower resolution taking up less space).

I just read a different article on VF4 and then reread couple of articles on Tekken 5 and thought I should make a thead about game companies but nah. Who would be interested in them or be knowledgeable about these stuff?
When I said it might not work on PSP, I wasn't talking about the storage size. I mean that the players won't be able to plug in their own controllers (big arcade stick connected to tiny PSP?). Beside, I know that PSP has similar specs like PS2 but I'm unsure how it would work the same on PSP the same way it work on PS2.

Yes, that's why a lot of developers like the PSP. They can get away with little things like that, and still have an amazing looking game.

I would say that Soul Caliber 2 is very possible for PSP. I don't see PSP games using many FMVs anyways since they use a lot of battery power. With the smaller screen resolution though you can use a little bit less detailed textures, etc. I would like to see it come for PSP.

You'd think they'd have a Street Fighter PSP release already, but instead there's Darkstalkers...Which is still good but I wanna see an actual new Street Fighter...Street Fighter 3D is what I'm waiting for with PS3, but 2D games...like make a Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 port or something with online etc....

A 3D street fighter has already been released on the PS2. It was one of the first games to come out on the PS2..(might of been a launch title, dont remember) Anyway, it was pretty neat.

It didn't compare to the 2D games, though. I was rather disappointed. Of course, I'm into Guilty Gear more than any other fighter, so I don't mind that much =) [Guilty Gear online for the PSP would = heaven]...
