Any real Hip Hop fans out there? I am not talking about this mainstream garbage you find on MTV and BET, I am talking TRUE Hip Hop!
Ever since I came to this country from South Africa in the early 90's, I found myself fascinated with Hip Hop. Which is why I have a deep love for old school hip hop, todays mainstream simply doesn't hold a candle compared to groups like A Tribe Called Quest or Digable Planets. Don't get me wrong Hip Hop is still going strong, but imo it can only be found in the underground movement.
Anyways, what are some groups you listen to? Was hoping to mabye gain some new groups as well as share some of mine. This is everything currently on my MP3 which explains why its in alphebetical order :P

but imo it can only be found in the underground movement. While in general I support the idea of this thread, and am a big 'underground' hip hop fan, and yes the inverted commas are very important, I will contest this statement to hell and back.
Nas
Jay-Z
Young Buck
The Game
Method Man
Redman
Dr. Dre
Mobb Deep

The Roots
Joell Ortiz
