Last night was the Celebrity game which pretty much sucked and the Rookie/Sophmore game which was good with about a trillion dunks, but the sophmores blew the rookies out of the water.
And tonight is the 3 point and dunk contest. Gerald Green will win the dunk cnotest and Dirk or Jason Terry will win the 3 point shootout.
So....anybody else watching it?

The dunk contest was pretty lame. Why have guys like Dwight and Tyrus Thomas in it when guys like Monta Ellis and Rudy Gay should be in it?

Yeah, I been watching all the stuff all weekend. Wanted Damon Jones to represent Cleveland and win the 3pt competition soooo bad. Any of you guys here what he did the last game the Cavs played the heat? ...
Never shy when it comes to self-promotion, Cavaliers guard Damon Jones walked Friday night into Quicken Loans Arena wearing an artillery jacket with a 'sniper' shoulder patch.
A week in advance, it apparently was game on.
Jones made his entrance a day after he and Heat forward Jason Kapono were selected for the 3-point contest at All-Star Weekend.
'It's just a symbolization, knowing Jason Kapono is in the building,' the former Heat guard said with a grin.
Asked where in Cleveland one gets such a getup, Jones replied, 'Everything I have is tailor-made.'
Jones and Kapono will be joined in the Feb. 17 field in Las Vegas by Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Mike Miller and Gilbert Arenas.
'It's a field of five great shooters and one excellent one,' Jones said with a grin that left no doubt about his breakdown.
I love Jones, pretty hilarious. He had told Kapono he was "Sniper Status" , but got knocked out the first round of the competition.
I was deffinetly disappointed with the dunk contest this year. I'm happy they made a 2min rule, but I think they should lower that to 1min, and just make more rounds of the contest itself. Watching the Allstar game now though. Hoping the East pulls out a win.
by the way: Prince and Chappelle are sitting next to each other they just said... Wonder what they are talking about http://www.asd.k12.ak.us/schools/mears/pages/Student_Pages/04_05_2nd_Sem/1st_period/jo_zach/Pictures/_Dave_Chappelle_As_Prince.jpg

Kapono was on fire.
And yeah, the dunk contest was pretty lame. Tyrus Thomas? WTF? Put Rudy, Monta Ellis, and David Lee in it.
The All-Star game is filled with the usual highlights, but it'd be better if people would stop taking pull up 3's from 5 feet behind the line.

If kobe made the three pointer in the end there would have been 3 recordws beaten tonight. Still nice game but no suspense.
Well IMO the sticker duck was the best. Micheal Jordan just grades too hard.

Agreed, but judges need to save their 10 scores for the most ridiculous dunks. I think maybe in 2003 the year that Fred Jones won, they gave Fred Jones 10's (adding up to a 50) on his 360 dunk, when right after him Jason Richardson did off the backboard between the legs, and got the same score. Those dunks are clearly not even in the same galaxy. Gotta save them 10's.

Well apart from some players, most of the players were not even really playing like they normally do. They were just fooling around.

Did any of you hear the Crowd chant "Kobe Kobe Kobe" near the end of the game?

Haha that happens a lot when they play away games. You know how pissed New York was when they found out he wasn't going to play. There were like so many Chants of "Let Kobe Play"

I'd give the all-star game this year a decent 7.5. Doesn't even compare to the '03 or '04 games.
There were too many ball hogs and D'antoni trying to get Amare the MVP by playing him almost the whole game.

He only played people who were actually playing. Some were like Whatever and weren't even really trying. There was no desire to win. The west won because it played those ball hogs.
It was fun to watch Kobe and Lebron on the court togethor. They made the game worth watching.
The game was decent but was much better than the rookie game. It was the most horrible game i have ever seen. I think my little sisters basketball games are better than that.

I am a true NBA fan but the Allstar weekend is kinda of boring except for the Events night(3pt,dunk etc), Even on the events night, the Dunk Contest was wack, it get to a point where you have seen all the types of dunks possible, it gets repetitve, and the Allstart game is such a bore because they just play around, just tossing the ball up for alley oops, they dont play serious. They need to have some type of incentive for winning the allstar game because it just gets boring and you get a score like 110-143. I watched an old allstar game with jordan and others...they played serious and it was actually exciting to watch the game, it came down to the last shot to win, nowadays its all just about showboating.
