PS3 backup utility?? How well does it work?

ya...gettin ready for linux....ps3 backup...how good does it work...games like need for speed carbon wont copy over the save data....does it still back that stuff up...i need people who have done it to respond....so ya....respond :D

the backup worked well for. It backs up everything on the ps3 partition. So you should be able to do a back then reformat to allow linux partition and then when you do restore it restores the back up on the ps3 partition without altering your linux partition. This worked for me. The only thing I found out by doing this is that if you do a backup from one model like a 20 it will not work for a 60. It may work 60 to 60 or 20 to 20 but I never tried it.

That's an interesting question. I have a 60, but I put a 120GB drive in it. Should I be able to copy things from the old drive to the new one by backing them up to an external drive?
