PS2 games with network configuration GUI for PS3

I know that this is a long shot, and many people will probably not use it, but I decided to create thread about it anyway.
I want to make (short) list of (most popular) PS2 games that have the Network configuration in them to allow people that don't have older PS2 with network adapter and network setup CD or don't have PS2 at all, to play other games that do not have the it on PS3.
This is usually listed in the manual.

So far I have:
SOCOM(not sure which one. All of them probably)
NHL2K5(I am guessing that all NHL2K games will have it)
Mortal Kombat: Deception(manual is not very clear about this so I could be wrong)

I did not know how to get on-line, and it took me long time to figure it out, so I want to make it easier for others to get PS2 games on-line on PS3.

P.S: I hardly ever buy any PS2 games, and most of the ones I have are pretty old, so if most of the recent ones have it, then you can delete this thread.

i want to play Killzone (PS2) online with my buddy, who doesn't have a PS3 yet, and apparently i lost my network setup CD and the mem card with my Killzone game saves on it (although i do have my other 6 PS2 mem cards :rolleyes:).

is there any way to get Killzone to work online with the PS3? (download a game save file? - couldn't find any)


i really don't want to buy the whole network adapter thing again just for the disc to play this one game. my PS2 was bought on launch day, so it doesn't have the network adapter built in. :bang:

any help would be appreciated!!!

You can just play on the PS3 online without the need for any network setup CD. Anyhow, just get one of those PS2 memory card adapters and transfer your save file over to your PS3. Then just return the thing since it's useless after that. Make sure you get it from a big retailer like Best Buy or Wal-Mart.

I didn't even play MGO on the PS2 since I didn't have a Network Adapter. Too bad Konami closed their MGS3 service last month. I haven't played MPO since last year...

that was the problem - i can't find my memory card with the save file.


i DID get it working, however - i used a newer PS2 game to setup the network file. newer PS2 games have the network setup built in (i used Champions of Norrath, BTW).

now i can play my PS2 games online with the PS3. :-D

The only way I know of is either by using the network disc or using a game that can setup the settings for you and create the file.

Do you have many games with network play or just the one?

my roomate has a bunch of ps2 games but nothing with online that fairly new i dont think but i thought this problem wouldnt exist with the 80gb ps3

Then I suggest you "rent" a newer game with network play and create the file needed that way maybe.

edit: just try ALL the games with online, you may be lucky and find one that will create the file for you.

Any of the socom games will make the file for you! You can get them really cheap and they are great fun online.
