Bioshock Trophies CONFIRMED


2K, the developers of Bioshock for PS3, posted an article written by Andrew Rudson (Programmer at Digital Extremes) on their blog.While working on BioShock PS3, I had the opportunity to be one of the first developers to make use of the new PSN Trophy system.
The entire post is dedicated to explaining the details of being one of the first developers to implement PS3 trophies. We learn the trophies are completed now and in final stages - making sure the trophies unlock when they are supposed to. Apparently, the art team did a fantastic job and they are beautiful.
We look forward to seeing just how beautiful they are when the game launches on PS3.

As for what trophies we can get, Rudson hints that you will get a trophy when you first hack a machine, as well as acquiring one when you zap a splicer in water.

Regarding the status of trophy implementation, Rudson leaves us with these words:

We're in the final stages now, which basically just means testing that Trophies unlock when they are supposed to, and translating the descriptions of each Trophy into FIGS (French, Italian, German, and Spanish). The Trophies themselves are beautiful – kudos to the art team who made them a perfect fit for the world of Rapture on the PS3 – and seeing this system in its final testing stages is a wonderful example of how far BioShock PS3 has come over the past few months, and how hard everyone on the team has worked perfecting each new aspect of the game.

It certainly seems as if Digital Extremes is paving the way for an awesome PS3 version of BioShock, with all the bells and whistles.

Cool, It seems that they are putting a lot of effort into this game. I may just add it to my PS3 collection when it releases.

I hope this game does well enough on the PS3 for all this extra work. I honestly can't remember if I finished Bioshock PC. I got pretty far into it and lost interest for some reason.

i didnt really like this game at all when i first played it on the 360 but i really want to like it. so i am going to pick it up and hope that it is indeed better than the 360 version

actually sony has already stated that at this time its not REQUIRED for devs to use the trophy system . im sure by next year that will change , but as it stands now they dont have to and i hope they DONT force devs to do it ( eventually all will simply due to it being so popular) but too many times i see lame achievments thrown into 360 games , like it was just done last minute and it just gives people an easy way to boost up..id rather devs have the time to work on the actual game as opposed to having to worry about needing time for hte trophies..

I played it and compleated it waayyy before my Sister, (it was on my sisters 360) and i finnished it in a week, a very satisfying game indeed.

I always wanted to play this game when it was exclusive to the 360. I wasn't so sure when it came to the PS3, but now I'll probably pick it up just so I have something to do.
