Over seas gamers, namely the Asian population are enjoying a game which Americans have not been able to get their hands on. It is an MMO that is created by the Korean company Webzen then sold to THE9. The game is called Soul of the Ultimate Nation which has been changing the way people look at MMO's the world over.
It seems as though SUN has borrowed a great deal from the Lord of the Rings franchise when they were deciding on the look of the cutscenes. The cutscenes makes you feel as though you are actually playing a live action movie. Below is several side by side comparisons of SUN and LOTR. We will not state which images are from which. Screenshots were taken by Jason Briney.

Stunning graphics, fluid movements, and a seemingly endless world awaited me. The story arc goes on literally forever thanks to the constant updates being released by Webzen and THE9 which add on new elements to the story as well as quests and even new items. At a glance one notices that this is a much better looking game than WoW by a mile. In fact, I have never seen graphics this intense in any American MMORPG mostly due to the fact that the developers need not worry about the graphics due to the addicting game play. However, Webzen didn’t seem to want to stop at addicting game play, they wanted a true lifelike experience. Now, rather than just polygon looking characters with sharp unrealistic edges, the developers of SUN have crafted lifelike (anime style) characters with beautiful features. This coupled with the utterly magnificent scenery of the immense maps have left me stunned.

lol looks similar? It's identical, I couldn't even tell which was CG from the game and which was CG from the movie in some of those shots.
Definitely looks better than WoW though as far as combat is concerned but I don't play MMO's so I have no idea whether looking better actually plays better, it's likely still point and click combat.

WoW was never a huge MMO in Asia to begin with

Man you hit the nail on the head. It looks like a carbon copy of LOTR, all the way down to the art style.

This is very true. Korea has its own set of hit MMO's that the West will never see, and it's just such a shame too.
Good thing I don't have a nack for playing MMO's, let alone a PC that could play any game from the last 2 years :snicker.

I've never been a huge fan of MMORPG's, however the art and design of this game is intriguing. I might give this game a run for it's money.

Well it does look interesting but usually Korean or even all Asian based MMOs are ALWAYS grind fest based games or at least require so much Mob farming before you can actually do anything else as leveling is sooooo important and sooooooooo slow......but saying that: anything that keeps me playing a game (MMO) that is not WoW which has the worst and by far the worst Online Community out there (especially all those pre-teen little boys who have not even experienced their first wet-dream yet?) is a Bonus to me...........WoW has a great concept that works and has done the online MMO Community a great favour and boost by initiating so many new players to the MMO concept, it is not a bad game per say but the "little kids" who play it have ruined the game for me in every aspect of the the gaming way............And what other game can a 12 year old level a toon from 1 to 70 in a weekend? Enough said from me...........

Thanks for that positive comment my friend! But that was not the intent of the comment...........WoW is made for little boys and grown-up boys who have not "adult" brain and that have not experienced the full efectbest of "puberty" yet...............so for me "WoW" will remain the realm of the life of the pre-pubecent game that most older peopel feel like the belong with the "wee" ones and enjoy themselves.............what a crack of idiocity for an online community who's IQ must not surpass any one that is 12 years old..........LOL
Anyways, this is my opinion only but I am sure many others feel the same way....................just log into one of the major cities and listen to the city-wide chat and look at all the "little people" talk themslvers away in complete stupidity! Then you will know what I mean...................Such a great game.........such a lousy community............and that is on absolutely every Server..................

But that pretty much goes for every MMORPG though really. Its even worse on free-play ones as any idiot can just join, and do what the hell they like. The credit card/ monthly subscription filters out some (but obviously not all) of these potential idiots.

You know, I know an awful lot of people in their 30s and 40s who enjoy WoW.
Maybe it's aimed at people who, rather than being somehow defective, just happen to have different taste?

I saw this game a pretty long while ago. It looked very very very far away from WOW. I played one game from the makers of this game...MU Online it was called. Totally awesome, until a subscription was needed :(

Lets be sensible here. Asia has their own culture and is different from the Western World. Diablo 2, Guild Wars, Neverwinter Nights had their own (region) realms. Sure, it may be pretty, but SoUN clearly had no English in it and nobody is going to add it in there either. Plus, there must be a whole lot of communist references in there, because this is Asia we're talking about. Arenanet is American and therefore Guild Wars emulates more American culture in it.
If I didn't know better, I say you people got aroused looking at navels. That's okay, because Arenanet has Guild Wars 2 coming out in 18-24 months!

Are you sure you and I are playing the same game? There's more European, Asian and African culture in Guild Wars than American, in fact does it have any American influence? Prophecies is similar to Lord of the Rings, Eye of the North feels like Scandinavia, Factions is based around Chinese and Japanese myths, and Nightfall has a strong trend towards ancient Egypt.

All of which has a "labor party." Dynasties are like monarchies? LOL. But in Guild Wars, there is two American realms due to our population and I never had anyone mention communist in there. There wasn't any republics or democracies in the Renaissance period so that's why it'll pass.

American realms? WTF are you one about? I'm not talking about servers, I'm talking about the game model. The reason there is literally nothing remotely American in the game is because US is a new country and the culture in GW is heavily reminiscent of ancient to medieval times. The US and Canada was born from a modern age society. What government ruling has on GW has no relevance whatsoever.

American districts although Europeans invade our realm/district and we have to reconquer cities, because you guys belong on your own District. At least that's what I've learned about the game in the 10 hrs I played. Europeans are there to dumb down our superior social skills.

Yay, I can finally see the pictures! It does look awful purdy I have to admit. I know my current computers and laptops couldn't handle it. It does look an awful lot like LOTRO. I haven't played it in a while but I can see the resemblance.

I fail to see the correlation between having American districts (which we're not talking about) and Game Design influenced by American values (which we're talking about).

This game looks pretty cool. Has it got loads of class and race choices? WoW has about 9 classes (soon to be 10) and 6 difference races which I think can be easily surpassed. That "ogre" thing in one of the screen shots looks pretty menacing, can you select that as a playable race/ class? Or have that cool looking dragon thing as a mount?

8/10 people I've gone around asking for location were American on the American Districts...always the top district on the drop down menu. I use go around and ask if they were American in person. The ones who responded said they were so I take their word for it (8/10). Yeah, I was smart and used Xfire, but now I'm a dean student @ college (aka a year ago) and everything got shoved to the side. I'm sure nothing changed besides the constant bug fixing.

Seriously are you even reading what I write? Let me make it easier for you if you're finding this really hard to understand:
Arenanet is American and therefore Guild Wars emulates more American culture in it.!
Prophecies is similar to Lord of the Rings, Eye of the North feels like Scandinavia, Factions is based around Chinese and Japanese myths, and Nightfall has a strong trend towards ancient Egypt.
Clearly you don't understand even your own words. There is NO American culture in Guild Wars, no ifs, no buts, no nothing, end of story. Districts and culture are two completely different things.
