So what do you think? Is this a countdown to Halo 4? Or a hoax?
I say Halo 4 just because its been about 9 months or so since Halo 3...it's time for some announcments on the next.

A website with a mysterious countdown timer has been discovered by numerous Bungie fans over the weekend. Also, along with it is a cryptic message that seems to be done in typical Bungie fashion.
Interestingly if you search the address in google it appears that the website could have been created by a rock radio station, so if you take everything into account it is either a hint to a new Halo game, Marathon, a new Bungie IP, or it could very well be a hoax.

No Halo4 announcement that game is being handle by GearBox. I would say a new multi platform game for the 360 and ps3.

That would be cool. Even though most won't admit it, I'm sure many Sony fans would like to get some Bungie love....lol, I'm not afraid to admit it! Bungie is a great quality developer.

I remember reading on gaf that they were working on a non-halo game, it was speculated that it was an xbla game though....I'd look for the link, but the beers prevent it...

I've heard that the GearBox HALO 4 rumor was bogus. Now it's being said that Bungie is actually doing the prequel. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Either way, we win. Both companies are very talented, so the game will come out good no matter who does it.

What makes you think that? Bungie is independant now. You never know it might be a multi-plat game, which could lead to more money. I know for sure it's not going to be a HALO 4 game, come on. Now a prequel to HALO very slim chance. I smell a multiplat or maybe a next gen MARATHON game or new IP? Halo still belongs to MS 360, so PS3 fans hoping for a mutilplat Halo game probably not.....but hey we can always play as master chief on UT3!!!!!:DD

Just because the relationship between Bungie Studios and Microsoft has changed doesn't mean Nintendo and Sony fans should start baiting Xbox fans on the message boards; for now, Bungie remains an Xbox 360-focused company.
"The Xbox has given us lot of success so, for now, our eyes are set on the Xbox 360," Bungie spokspeson Brian Jarrard told Reuters (http://ca.today.reuters.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=technologyNews&storyID=2007-10-05T174728Z_01_WNAS5665_RTRIDST_0_TECH-MICROSOFT-BUNGIE-COL.XML&archived=False). "We're not in a situation where we're running out the door and grabbing Wii and PS3 development kits." Still, Jarrard left the option on the table for the future. "There's not a real intention to do that [work on other platforms] unless something changes down the road."

Doesn't sound like they have any interest in developing for other platforms at this time.
