"Right, I haven't read every post in this thread, but I get the jist and just to stop you all from panicking too much... GRID and DiRT are aimed at an arcade audience and they do that very well. F1 has different requirements and will get a completely different treatment from our in-house team, including full on sim options, physics, rules and regs etc. We will also have arcade requirements catered for as well. How this will be split we do not know yet, but split it will be."

I could never tell the difference between an arcade racer, like GRID, and a simulation racer, like GT5:P. They both feel the same to me...

Sim is the right way to go with an F1 game.
I'm looking forward to it, really hope they do a good job.

but is the game not being released pretty much as the season ends? whats the point in that, to be honest i think i will give this one a miss. loved the 1st F1 game and was lookinh forward to the new one, but being a new developer and ita late release date has put me off

That's a relief to hear, hopefully the graphics will also reflect that. I want clean realistic visuals like F1:CE/GT5 not like GRiD with its awful HDR/Soft Focus/Blur
I hope they don't screw it all up

How do you get "F1 2009 will be a Sim" when they state that it will be split between arcade and sim?

Hmm.... dont know about that, it might actual spoil the ratings of the game, but it depends on they produce it.

How do you get "F1 2009 will be a Sim" when they state that it will be split between arcade and sim?
you are confusing "a combination of Sim & Arcade modes" with "separate / split Sim mode and arcade mode".
the thread was about how CM was going to make "a combination of Sim & Arcade modes", or actually fearing that they would. and how it was going to be "Arcadey" like GRID / DIRT.

This is good news. I really never find arcade racing games any fun.

They just say that, but I'm not sure they know how to make a modern simulation, they\ve never did that :)

Ya after seeing this, Im hoping you can change some part in need. With a sim layout this should put a good test. Im still hoping you can make your own profile, Cars, etc..... that give you a good fun stats.

Outstanding stuff, because when you spin out/almost spin out in F1:CE and try and correct it, it doesn't work. Usually.

Do they confirm that steering with a wheel controller will finally be correct?? Their steering interface for wheel controllers has been crap in Toca 3 and beyond.

If it turns out to be truth, rather than wishful thinking...
Thank GOD for that.

I pray it doesn't end up driving like GriD.
Anyways, they've addressed it which gives me faith. Hope it ends up more like F1:CE than their current series of racing games.

I belive that this will be the best F1 racer to date :)
I Hated Dirt, dont think I am a rally racer :/
I am loving GRID right now, The cars are a bit to quick to spin out but you can compensate for that!
I cant wait for thier F1 SIM/Thing If they throw in changing weather, pit stops, rules and realistic damage I cant see them loosing, but if they try pull off an unrealistic F1 SIM then Ill be sadly dissappointed!
I am willing to give them a chance :D

Please Please make sure its as close to a sim as possible. I need my F1 hit but I'm not buying a GRID/F1 game, no way (ps I like grid).
