Hi, today my stupid, selfish brother knocked my PS3 and it's slightly cracked, it's fairly minor but I like my things to be in good condition. Is there any service that I can use? I have a 60GB Europeen PS3 since launch, so is continuous play an option? Could i sign up for it after it's been damaged and get free repairs, or do I need to pay for repair? If so, how much will it cost? Of course, +rep for any good, helpful advice that is given!

Well you could try giving Sony a ring. If it is on the front of the console then it should be pretty easy to repair as I think it is a faceplate thingy that has the "Playstation 3" on it so replacing it shouldn't be hard.
I'm not too sure about how continuous play works but I'm assuming that you wouldn't be able to get it repaired free after the accident via continuous play although it may not cost much to get a faceplate replaced...

Yeah, it's just a crack at the very front of the console. Do you have any idea of the sort of price it would cost? Thanks for hte info Zoibie, +rep of course.

I'm not sure... you could cover it up with a sticker for a definite price...

Thanks for the idea Zoibie, but I would prefer to replace the faceplate, as long as it doesn't cost a ridiculous amount that is.

Other than that I think the only other thing to do is give Sony a ring and see what they could do...

check out ebay for replacement parts, im sure there gonna be overpriced as they are hard to find. if you cannot find a solution you can have someone with a plastic welder weld the crack and smooth it out although there will be a line there will be no crack to spread later on. good luck!

Just rung Sony, they can't repair it for some reason, does anyone know of any third-party repair services? All help is appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestion VintageElise, but I would prefer to only send my console to a UK based company as I live there, as it makes it a lot easier and less complicated to get it done.

I think VintageElise is on the right lines, I was looking at the faceplate option on the playstation.com forums and apparently you need to take off the warrenty sticker to do it. If you really wanted a new faceplate it would take a while to find one and would void you warrenty...
How about any of these websites...
