"Ex-Nintendo Europe boss David Gosen, now marketing exec at Microsoft, has teased the "fantastic surprises" set to be revealed at this month's E3 show in Los Angeles. Is that 360 Wii Remote finally coming out of the closet?
Speaking to trade mag MCV, Gosen said to expect "game-changing" Xbox news at the event, which kicks off with the company's press conference on July 14. (...)"
Personally i couldn't care less about a wii mote, a fantastic surprise for me would be the announcement of Perfect Dark 2 with realistic graphics and being the true sequel to the N64 game. What would be yours/do you think they could be?

My guess is also on the Wiimote kind of thing and perhaps on a way to integrate the almost forgotten camera more.

How about $250 premium and $150 arcade as new prices? In reality, it's almost certainly the wii-mote rip-off. Hopefully they'll have more information on Infinite Undiscovery. That game is getting close to release and we've heard virtually nothing about it.

I don't think that offering a Wii like remote as an accessory will change anything. It would have to be standard with the console in order to make a difference. And since there are already 20 million 360's without a Wii like remote, it wouldn't be a hit.

well they do have to hype it what ever it is. Tho I doubt it will be game changing.
OP:I would almost guarantee this is not a game, but either a hardware add-on (wii-mote knock off ect.) or its a new feature added to the dashboard.

Bah..I agree...it would have to be hyped a lot....but no matter how much hype, I don't think they can make it successful. Just my opinion of course.
Then again, the tilt in our PS3 controllers comes standard, but it's not really a huge selling point. I didn't even notice if it had a use in MGS4 :(
I hope MS doesn't F up.

So far almost ever attempt Sony has made to make sixaxis a key component in a game it has not been met well. Ms will have a lot of work to do if the want to go down this road.

Based on the word "game changing", the suprises he is referring to won't be a game. I expect to see Lipps, MS-Mote, and some new dashboard upgrade/funcationalty/integration.
It looks like MS has something pretty awesome up their sleeve.

Yup, sounds like they'll reveal new add-ons or perhaps new features to Xbox Live (upgrade to counter Home? heh). Still, I'm more interested in seeing what new games are in store for us :D

It won't be much of a surprise because nintendo already did it I highly doubt people will go out and buy it. For a company that stakes the claim as there system being for "hardcore gamers" I don't understand.

Microsoft X-Mote, Little Big Pinata, Super Master Chief Brothers ... I don't think any of these things would be very game changing.
Think an MMO with tens of thousands of players ingame simultaneously. That what I think we will see.
Carl

Like everyone here, i am betting on the X-Mote or whatever they're going to call it.
Hardly game changing seeing as it's the reason everyone has a wii.

These are the only things I would consider "surprises".
- Price Drop on Harddrives. ( I still dont have one dammit!!, my own little rant)
- Halo 4 (Even though I am not the biggest Halo fan, that would get HUGE pops)
- Free Xbox Live

Whats the point of offering a wii-mote now? They're 19-20 million units in, and there's no way they could make it standard. The majority of the games would still use the controller with the exception of a few specifically designed games.
I would much rather see some new IPs from MS, as well as an update on a few ones that we're really hyped for. Halo Wars, Too Human, Alan Wake. I'd like an announcement of Project Offset for the 360, that game looks awesome. I think MS could have a lot better announcements than a wii-mote like device.

Not exactly flamebait lets call it a little jab. I do own an Original XBOX and I did enjoy it until the damn Thompson DVD drive expired on me. You got to admit Microsoft track record in term of Console is 2 and 0. I admit that they have a great online service but their hardware could use a lots more quality controle before they ship out!

That isn't really game changing though, this will be something console related not games related as in titles for the 360.

Their no such thing has a game being "Game changing" in the industry. Well aside from the few exception like Doom and Halo but nobody is able to predict them before they actually happen and we get one of those every 15 years or so. It got to be hardware or service related.

Care to explain how HALO changed the industry?

It put online FPS on the map for console. The way Counter Strike and a few other FPS did it for PC a few years before Halo. And quite frankly if the original Xbox never had Halo Microsoft might never had made the 360.

Care to explain how HALO changed the industry?
Sure. It changed the way FPS work on a console with the shield, the flawless multiplayer. Not to mention regeneration [meaning less people camping by health packs], melee, nades, vehicles, accessible maps..
The great implementation of all the above made Halo CE groundbreaking and changed the industry.
Add to that Halo 2's multiplayer modes, lobbysystem, dual wielding, etc and you're on to a winner.

Price drop is inevitable...maybe some Halo news. LOTS of Gears of War II footage. Possibility of a waggle remote or blu-ray add-on, but I doubt it. A MS handheld would be sweet but highly unlikely.
360 Mii type avatars most likely...Forza 3....Lips (Singstar type game).....A lot of talk about Rock Band 2 since its a timed exclusive.
Maybe Mist Walkers next project...either Lost Odyssey 2 or Cry On...
but I don't expect much RPG news because of the big blowout they just had with SE with Star Ocean 4 and The Last Remnant. They wouldn't announce that much right now, but would wait for anything else until TGS.
Maybe a couple new exclusives...
And some news on the exclusive GTAIV downloadable content.

Of course, every X360 owner worth his LIVE membership would love to have MGS4 on their system. Just as every PS3 owner would love to have Mass Effect and Gears on the PS3.
Personally, I expect to see Fable 2 delayed to next year. With that being said, I see Gears being released in October and Left 4 Dead being the big time exclusive for the X360 in November. I also expect to see a visually stunning Forza 3, plenty of Banjo which, coincidentally, will be be released with a brand new motion controller. I expect that the Peter Jackson Halo project, and Alan Wake (yes, Alan Wake) will be the biggest games that MS will be showing off.

See thats where you're wrong. If I really wanted to buy Mass effect and Gears of War, I could play them on a decent PC. But I will probably never buy either of the two games.
Of course I might be an exception and that is only my opinion. Console exclusives are the only games I would care about. Stuff like Lost Odyssey and Fable 2. Those are the games PS3 owners would want if anything.
I would say you're spot on with predictions. I don't think anything on that list is out of the realm of possibility with the Microsoft will show this year.

I feel that anyone who wants a "Wii-mote gaming experience" has a Wii.
It might be a little too late to jump on that band-wagon.
"Game-changing" experience most certainly means "a different way to play games." Or a different way to look at games."
MS Wii-mote rip-off = POSSIBLE
New game revealed that changes the way you look at video games = LESS LIKELY, BUT STILL POSSIBLE

What a fitting name for an Xbox Handheld. It would be a minipc and all the games would be direct ports of PC games, everything from half life 2 to Halo 1. I might even buy it. :suspect:

Gears 2, Fable 2, Halo Wars, Banjo 3, and more. I think that this is going to be a pretty good year after the 360 had supposedly "peaked" in 2007.

Seriously a game cannot really be industry changing can it? Well at least you can't predict these things from a game anyway.
Unless of course you are given a pair of glasses and you get virtual reality play time. That would be intense.
Chances are it's just a wii mote rip off.
