WOW that's really dumb considering there is already a non-copyable accomplishment file on your PS3 if you own the game. Why would they go through the trouble of putting "accomplishments" into the game and not transfer them into trophies?

It might have something to do with how many the developers are allowed to put into their games. Supposedly there's a limit for both the PSN and on disk games, if DMC had more than their limit allows they probably decided it wasnt worth spending the time to figure out which ones you can get and also it's a issue with making them retroactive or not.

In other words It's laziness.

I'm still kinda mad about this. I'll go back to this game anyway since I really liked it and beating it on all the difficulties is good for replayability. But come on, Capcom, it can't be that hard to do. You sold millions of copies of this stupid game.

Shame there's not more of the developers coming to the party. Particularly as DMC4 has a pretty good system built in already that you'd assume they would work off..

It's Capcom; enough said. I doubt that even RE5 or Bionic Commando will include Trophies. They are probably going to say that those games are too far in development for them to add anything other than gameplay refinements.

I was thinking about buying DMC4 recently.. thinking eventually it would get patched with trophies. But now im not. I'll be buying Burnout now instead.

I don't have either of those games but it amazes me that developers just don't want to patch the games to add trophy support, especially if they already have some kind of achievements in the game. I'm not saying it's an easy task or anything but they have to realize how big trophies are/will be. I can see many people who are crazy enough about achievements/trophies to buy a game just for this purpose. Oh well, you can't win them all. I do have Burnout so I'm thankful for all their doing with that game with free add-ons and trophy support on the way. Kudos to them.

Get used to it. I mean, if Sony's own studios aren't patching games (Insomniac) then why would any third party studios who aren't getting money from Sony do it? Outside of some PSN titles and titles making last ditch efforts to salvage a few sales, I don't think ANYONE is going to bother with patching any existing games.

It's not Capcom's fault, it's all Sony. You can't just throw something out there and expect everyone to jump on board. Contrary to popular belief, a patch is NOT something you can do overnight. It costs money and it takes people off of other projects. Unless Sony is going to pay them to do it, it's pointless.

Also, adding trophy support to existing games may not be the best idea, anyway? What would PS3 owners say if the PS3 version Resident Evil 5 was delayed because guys were taken off of it to spend a month adding trophy support to Puzzle Fighter?

The best they can do at this point is make trophy support/custom soundtracks mandatory for all future games after a specified date. As far as Sony's claim of 70% of existing games getting trophy support, I'd be surprised if they manage 17%. The trophy system could eventually outshine the 360's acheivement system, but I doubt that happens anytime soon. Also, what happens when HOME is released and Sony is asking devs to patch their games all over again?
