Whose Fault Is it That We Don't Have More Trophy Support?

So I was thinking, 2.40 was released and there is 1... game that supports trophies right off the bat. Really? 1 game? If I were a dev, i would have been trying very hard to have my game patched day 1 so more people would buy my game. Here are my questions.

Did the devs not have the right tools until now?

Did it sneak up on the devs?

Did devs not think that it was going to be very important to gamers?

Is sony making them wait?

the firmware has just been release...some devolpers aren't gonna do it period because their game has been out too long, others are working on it , but its gonna take more time. alot of these devs have alot of projects going on so you can't expect them to jump on the ball right away.

I doubt Sony is making anyone wait. They have the choice to release the patch if they choose too. Unless Sony has given them specific dates to release the patch so they don't all flood the PS blog at the same time. I doubt Sony is giving them limitations.

The dev tools went out last week supposeldy. So, no, the devs have not had enough time to build these in for the launch. But if its anything like the vibration, it will likely be patched into 30-50% of past games and it will be in nearly 80-100% going forward a few months, and a 100% after that.

One week? So sony dropped the ball on that one. That would have helped a lot better release of this firmware if there were more games with trophies.

True. But they did not want to hold back in game XMB and trophies too long. After all E3 is coming up, and the rumors are that we will see the video store then. So they did not want to leave too many things that come at once.

And for all we know more games will patch very soon. A few are rumored to patch in the next day or two. So as long as we get 2-5 patched every couple of weeks, that should keep us busy. In addition to all new games which will more tan likely have Trophies.

You should look at it this way: Would you of rathered that Sony completely wait until more games support trophies to release the patch at all, or be happy that the release is out and at least there? If they had waited till there were at least say 5 games that supported it, it most likely would have delyayed 2.40 for a couple months.
