I know there have been alot of COD4 threads, but most of them are mixed and don't have a clear purpose. I wish to make such a thread, with the purpose being guns. Here everyone can post their selected classes, and if any new guys wanna ask some questions go right ahead. For starters, Ill list my current classes, mind you I do change them frequently but, they mostly stay the same. Also, I have myself a question: was is the main purpose of the ACOG. I use it on my snipers, but have no clue why I use it. Any insight to this will help.

Class 1: (Sniper Rifle) Maps: Crash, Bog, Overgrown

M21 Sniper Rifle: Equppied with ACOG scope
Grenade: Flash
Perk 1: Claymore x2
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Dead Silence

Class 2: (Sub Machine Gun) Maps: Every map

MP5: Equipped with silencer
Grenade: Flash
Perk 1: Bomb Squad
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Dead Silence

Class 3: (Sub Machine Gun) Maps: Every map

P90: Equipped with silencer
Grenade: Flash
Perk 1: Frag x3
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Dead Silence

Class 4: (Assault Rifle) Maps: Large scale maps (ie. Crossfire)

G36C: Equipped with Red-Dot sight
Grenade: Flash
Perk 1: Frag x3
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Dead Silence

Class 5: (Sniper Rifle) Maps: Bog, Bloc, Overgrown

M40A3: Equipped with standard scope
Grenade: Flash
Perk 1: Claymore x2
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Iron Lungs

From recent personnal experience, the M21 with ACOG is amazing. You can get easy 2 hit kills, and 1 hit head-shot kills. Its very accurate, and better with ACOG than M14 with ACOG. Also, if you want guaranteed 1 hit kills, then use the M40A3 with stopping power, and you'll get them everytime (except if they have juggernaut ). As you may have noticed, my preferred perks are: claymore x2, stopping power, dead silence. I tend to use SMGs in Search and Destroy (also snipers). I dont pay much Team Deathmatch as before, as I find it boring and inconclusive. In S&D, if you have a good team its very fun, but I find it that in some cases, in the first 20 secs of the game, my entire team is dead, and I'm the only one left to finish the game. Sometimes I can do it, sometimes I can't. It also helps if you play as a team and you watch each others backs. Also, I don't camp, unless you consider sniping camping, but when I snipe I rarely stay in the same spot. But I will "camp" when I'm the only guy left a live on my team, but even then I'm always moving around. Never stay in one spot for more than 15 secs, if that. :DD

Add me for Search and Destroy: King_Mathers :gta:

You only need stopping power if your a n00bzor & don't play hardcore.

Primary Weapon:
M16A4 (I think it's called), with red dot sight.
Secondary Weapon:
R700

Perks:
Bomb Squad
The one that let's you have two bigger weps.
Dead Silence or the one that let's you run for longer.

=

Win.

Im not a big fan of acog on sniper rifles. I find it to be less accurate than the standard scope. Also acog is meant for mid range shooting so it has less zoom than normal sniper scopes which is why I Iprefer it on assault rifles.

Thanks for those answers guys. I really like using stopping power because it puts down people faster. I don't really use overkill since with M21 + ACOG is like a assault rifle to me. Bandolier I don't need because I almost never run out of ammo. And actually bomb squad has quite in handy sometimes. I agree with how to ACOG isn't very accurate but, Im just really good with it. I enjoy using it more than the standard scope. Also, I find that when using ACOG you have a better perception of the environment around you.

When im plaing anything hardcore i usually use double tap more than stopping power.

My Favorite Silent class is the:
G3 Assault Rifle (W/Silencer)
Bomb Squad
UAV Jammer
Dead Silence

you ever want to sneak up on anybody (snipers especially) this is the class to use

The only problem I may see with this class is that because of the silencer, and no stopping power there may not be enough damage for the bullets, and thus if the sniper some how sees you, he can easily mow you down with his pistol. :D

For stealth, I suggest using a silenced MP5 and if your team is good, you dont need UAV jammer because the other team will never get one. :DD

So for you I would say put stopping power on the G3. That gun is a beast. I don't use single shot weapons when playing S&D. :gta:

You only need stopping power for the G3 when you don't play hardcore. In hardcore, the G3 is almost a one-shot-weapon.

they need to get rid of the damn Kill-Cam!!! HATE THAT NONSENSE!!! whats the point of trying to sneak around and be a sniper if they can see where they were killed from!!!
