View Full Version : new problem with FW 2.36

hey guys ever since my update to FW 2.36 i keep getting this error from my ps3 whenever i try to get into the media server from my pc.
it says DLNA protocol error (2104) and after i retry a few times it lets me in x.X

anyone know what this problem could be?

Try updating your firmware. If you already have the latest then call Sony is the only thing i know.

I reckon you would have more luck trying on the forum site for what ever media server software your using.

But first have you done the usual stuff in turning off your Router/Modem

im using nero media home and yes i turn it off did a hard reset evrything i dont know what the prob could be but ill find out in a week am on vacation right now so i dont even know if there is another update ill go check the forum now for it. i hope the problem will go away with the next update

It will most likely be a firewall or Virus checker problem.

Since the PS3 is secure i would recommend you put in the DMZ section on the router.
This puts it outside of any firewall, so you wont have the problem of making sure the correct ports are open.


See if that makes a difference.

Also turn off you virus checker (you may even need to unistall it)

um im sorry i dont really get that? DMZ section? what is that exactly? is it something that i have to configure while im inside the router?

The latest PS3 firmware is 2.42 so update that first!

Yes.

You assign you PS3 a static IP address. Then you enter this in to the DMZ of the router. If you dont know how to do that. If you let me know your router make and model i can find instructions for you.

I have the same problem and I using an apple airport extreme router to connect. From what I gather Apple does not support the UPNP and I need to configure it for a static IP address. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you realize we are at firmware 2.5 right so your response here does nothing for this topic
