Title basically says it all. I have a .m2ts movie file that I want to put on my PS3 (I heard PS3 can play .m2ts files but maybe I'm wrong). Anyways, I put the file into TVersity, went over to the PS3 but there was nothing showing in TVersity under video. Has anyone else gotten an .m2ts file to PS3 over a program like TVersity? Thanks.

Hi all,

I've also problems to make my PS3 read m2ts files.

I've ripped one of my Blu-Rays (Disc 2 of Planet Earth) with the PS3 SAK Tool in order to make an ISO.

So, I've mounted the ISO file using Daemontool and was able to browse it with AnyDVD HD.

Then, I used TSMuxer, selected episode one of the mounted ISO (m2ts file was +/- 7,5 Gb) and selected streams VC-1 video, AC3 audio and one subtitle (french in my case). I've output it to a new m2ts file and split it in 2 with HDBDSplit in order to copy them to an external HDD Fat32.

My problem is : when I try to read the 2 resulting m2ts files on my externall HDD with my PS3, it says "Corrupted Data". I've tried to rename the files with m2t extension but still not working.

BUT... If I choose the option "Create Blu-Ray" in TSMuxer with one of my 2 m2ts files and burn it on a single DVD+R with Nero 8 (UDF 2.5), my PS3 read the disc well (video, audio and subtitle OK).

What am I doing wrong ?

Other question : I've red that one user was able to copy an 8 Gb m2ts file from a DVD-DL to the HDD of its PS3 and it plays the files with no problem.
Is there a size limit for files in internal PS3 HDD ?
I was thinking of replacing the HDD of my PS3 with a bigger one (500Gb SATA) and copy big m2ts files directly to it using an USB/SATA interface from my PC but I don't know what happen if you try too hook-up the PS3 HDD to a PC (does it recognize it with its partitions (PS3 and OtherOS) ) ?

Regards.

In relation to this issue...I have a m2ts file on my PS3 and it works, however, It doesn't display an image icon. You know, how it shows a small clip next to it running over and over. This is just a small minor issue but wondering how I can have one for this type of file. Do I simply need to convert to '.mpg' before I upload it onto my ps3?

EDIT: NM, I was basing it upon when it opened it up through my ipod...if its copied to the HD, it displays an Icon

my m2ts file seems to be playing just fine, I just uploaded it from my ipod...just using it to transfer from my comp to ps3.

Im also having the same problem as well, have you managed to figure out wats the problem ?

i tried to rip Rush Hour 3, got the ISO image to a ex FAT HDD. On the PC i combined them. then mounted it and then used AnyDVD. when i split the largest m2ts file and play them back on the PS3 from my FAT32 HDD it says unsupported data. (same problem as you, i thought ps3 could read m2ts files ?)

when i use TSMuxer to make a blu ray and burn to DVD with UDF2.50 using nero, it plays the films but with out no sound  This has been bugging me for the last couple of days dont know whats the problem.

Any help i would much appricateit ? :):):)
