September is definitely a 'big' month for Blu-Ray. The Godfather Trilogy will also be debuting on Blu-Ray in September according to The Digital Bits on September 23rd. L.A. Confidential is also coming in September on the 23rd as well.

Yeah, the 20th is my B-Day too; definitely going to be a big month. That's just from Buena Vista/ Paramount/ Warner too, we still don't know what all the other studios have planned for that month either (Fox/ Lionsgate/ MGM/ Sony/ Universal/ Weinstein).

Although I know that Fox has The Omen Collection planned for the 9th in September, Universal also has The 40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall planned for the 30th of September also.

Also keep in mind, that the dates for the Godfather Trilogy and Iron Man are still subject to change, but still seem pretty solid. The Godfather release is still a rumor for now, but the Digital Bits seems pretty confident that Paramount will deliver the goods since The Godfather Trilogy was just recently remastered. Here's the source for the info: Source 1 (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/rumormill.html#061708); Source 2 (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/rumormill.html#061708)

Here's a quick (and cool) bit of release info: Both industry and retail sources are now telling us to expect Paramount to announce the remastered Godfather trilogy for release on DVD and Blu-ray here in the States on (or around) 9/23. Consider that Rumor Mill worthy until the official announcement is made, but watch for it soon.

Paramount has all the good stuff. Except for The Matrix and The LOTR trilogy. The latter will be just as incredible as both Iron Man and Transformers on Blu-ray for the obvious reasons.

Ya I know, The LOTR Trilogy won't hit till next year I believe :\ Oh well, still got the other massive hits :DD

I love all those movies, but the Godfather I & II are really wtting my lips. These are 2 of my all time favorites and I really hope the studio takes the time to do them right. No special effects so it should be very clean throughout if they take their time. Also it will be nice to have II all on one disc, it is on 2 in the DVD set.

"You broke my heart Fredo!!!"

There's also a chance that The Big Lebowski and Zodiac will release in September on Blu-Ray as well considering that the DVD's are being re-released/ promoted in September. Zodiac will be re-released on DVD 9/9, and The Big Lebowski will be re-released on DVD on 9/16. Hopefully they both come out on Blu-Ray the same days as the DVD re-releases.

Wait... wait. I totally forgot. Major, do you know if there's any word (even a rumor) on Jurassic Park from Universal Studios? It's one of my all-time classics, and one I would very very much enjoy on Blu-ray of course.

Jurassic Park? Haven't heard anything at all. The only big Trilogy I've heard that Universal is prepping for Blu-Ray is the Bourne for Holiday '08 and the Back to the Future Trilogy for sometime in '09.

I've heard that Jurassic Park 4 is in the works, so the trilogy will most likely come out around that time if JP4 ever comes to life.

Ya, lol. If they don't kill this one along with the 2nd and 3rd. 1st was a classic. 2nd was alright but not that great. 3rd was kinda pitiful. Only thing that saved it was the some of the original cast making re-appearances.

So, I'm not looking for the trilogy more so just the first one.

Yea, 1st JP is definitely a classic, but the rest are crap. Same things goes for the Matrix Trilogy imo; first one is a classic and the rest are just crap...well the second one was okay, but the third one was crap. Too bad neither Universal or Warner will sell these in singles at first when they do release them all on Blu-Ray.

Ya I could get them all on Blu-ray anyway as long as its not $80. I think it would have to go for $30, Idk. I might have to stretch myself a little :\

I agree with The Matrix as well. The last two were somewhat good for the action, but especially in the last move, its like they didn't know how to end it, so they gave the most vague ending possible. Only the first though had a great and original story.

Yea haha, ima be broke for sure in September; I can't imagine how much bigger Oct., Nov., and Dec. will be. I'm sure they'll be way bigger than September in terms of releases.

Also, 1408 supposedly is set to release sometime in September as well, but that's still subject to change as well for anyone who wants to know.

Edit: Here's a bit more news on the Godfather Trilogy

Seems like The Godfather Trilogy on Blu-Ray may be announced officially next week according to the Digital Bits:

First though, speaking of announcements that might be impending, industry and retail sources are telling us today that Paramount is close to announcing the Region 1 DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of the newly remastered Godfather Trilogy, which has already been announced for release in Europe and elsewhere around the world. Consider that Rumor Mill worthy, but there's reason to believe that the announcement could come as soon as Monday on the eve EMA. It's possible that other interesting DVD and Blu-ray announcements will be made by various studios next week as well, so definitely check back here starting on Monday for all the latest.
