Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this before. I moved and had turned my ps3 off obviously, when I re-plugged it in again my controller wont sync with my ps3. my second controller is fine, i had to re-sync my bluetooth remote, but my controller still doesnt sync after turning it off and on, I plug it in the ps3 then press the ps button. It will only work with the usb cable plugged in, once I unplug it all the light flash. the battery is fully charged. I have googled this issue, the only thing I seem to find is to set it back to the fctory defaults, but I am not sure what this will affect or if there is an easier solution?

Try resetting the controller, there's a small reset button on the back. You need something like a paperclip to be able to reach the button.
Hope this helps.

Yeah resetting your controller back to factory settings shouldn't do anything to your PS3... try it and you should be fine !

happend to me take any bluetooth items you have out of the ps3s range and unsync them and sync your controller and anytime you turn off ur ps3 or controller turn off other blutooth devices first

Ok, both options are fine, but here's one more thing they forgot to mention, turn your PS3 off with the main power switch, plug the controller (you can plug both if you like) via USB to the PS3, now turn the PS3 on (main switch, then soft switch) let it boot and then press the PS button, there is no need to reset the PS3 to the factory settings in this case.
What you are doing here, is the same thing you did when you first got the PS3.

Do tell us, inquiring minds want to know. I hate the suspense .

Can someone give an update to this issue?
My PS3 is acting up. Whenever I play a game, the controller will stop working and need to be connected to via a cable. Its not a charge issue because I just bought a new one and it does the same exact thing. So much for wireless....
When i leave it connected to through the cable and unconnect the cable, the lights keep blinking and wont sync with the PS3 until i turn off the ps3 and back on..
On a side note, any idea why the controller shuts off during a movie and wont sync back?! Seriouslly..
any help would be greatly appreciated. I searched for an answer but this is the closet thread i got..

I switch my ps3 between rooms a lot, one has sd one has hd, and so I have to hold the reset button. This usually means I have to plug all the controllers in and turn them on otherwise they wont sync up. Also the themes all disappear which is incredibly annoying when I do it at least once a week. They need to change this via firmware, theme should still remain the same there's no need to reset it.

My sixaxis is back in sync now.
I simply did the power switches thing.

Hi Guys,
Im having a similar problem with my controller, first of all i borrowed one of a friend and it just wouldnt work, all it did was have all 4 lights a the top flash. I tried anotehr one of my friends controllers and that worked fine. I just bought one of amazon and its doing the same bloody thing. All it does is have all the top lights flash but it never actually works with the ps3. Ive tried resetting the back button on the controller, turning the ps3 off a the wall and even making sure all blue tooth stuff is off or out the room, including my other controller that works.....what the hell is going on!! Help would be much appritiated and i dont have a clue! :2gun:

One of my two Sixaxis controllers has suddenly started acting very weird, I've tried the reset button at the back etc. but all I can do with the control is move back and forward and left and right, none of the actual function buttons will work, has anyone any idea, it is only a few weeks old?
Many Thanks in advance,
