Why couldn't both teams have lost?

On second thought, why couldn't the celtics have won without KG getting a ring?

What are the most popular sports in the world?

In: Sports
[Edit]
Most Americans think that there is no other sport outside of America besides American Football and Baseball. There are more people in India alone watching one day cricket than Americans do in a whole season of American Football and Baseball put together. No-one outside of the US watches these two sports! And if they do, the numbers are minimal.
The 2007 Rugby World Cup Final attracted 17 million people just in the UK. alone, the largest watched sporting event of the year in the UK. Rugby World Cup is probably the third most watched sport in the world after soccer and the Olympics.
As a matter if interest, just check out how many countries play rugby.

Most Popular Sports

Soccer easily with cricket a close second. id say rugby would be a close third due to the international nature of the game.
Soccer (football to most of the world) is by nearly any standard the most popular sport in the world.
However, "most popular" could mean "most watched" or "most played" or even "most revenue-generating." You might wish to ask a more specific question.
Here is more input:

The biggest sport in the world is, easily, FOOTBALL. (This is what the world calls football and Americans call soccer, not American NFL football.)

When you look at the stadiums around the world, when you see the people in many countries the wear football shirts a lot, and also many people know about football. The WORLD CUP, UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, THE SOUTH AMERICAN CUP, THE AMERICAN CUP, THE ASIAN CUP and many others. And each country has 40 football teams, England has about 70, Italy 40, Spain 40. Others probubly have the same number of team. Most asian, some African, A lot of European and South American people love football. And a bit of American. Most countries like the football more than other sports.

I'm pretty sure rugby ranks up there, too. Second place, at least. Soccer has one-up on rugby, and that's the fact that soccer is very popular in the United States, and rugby isn't.

Football, Basketball, Tennis, Rugby, Boxing

Football (Soccer) is the most popular participant and spectator sport in South America, Asia, Europe and Africa. Basketball is gaining prominence specifically in china, however Football still is the predominant sport.

According to johann-sandra.com volleyball is the most popular sport in the world followed by basketball, table tennis, and soccer. Rugby is way down the list.

Here is another ranked list:

Soccer
Basketball
Tennis
Gymnastics
Swimming
Cycling
Karate
Cricket
Baseball
Field Hockey

i think rugby is the most popular score just because usa likes soccer the rest of the world is bigger and they mite not like soccer.

Answer

1) Soccer. 3.3-3.5 Billion Fans. (Europe, Africa, Americas, etc) 2) Cricket 3-3.3 Billion Fans. (India,U.K,Pakistan,Asia,Australia, etc) 3) Field Hockey. 2-2.2 Bilion Fans. (Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia) 4) Tennis. Around 1 Billion Fans. (Europe, Americas, Asia) 5) Volleyball Around 900 Million Fans. (Asia, Erope, Americas, Australia) 6) Table Tennis Around 900 Million Fans. (Asia, Europe, Africa, Americas) 7) Baseball Around 500 Million Fans. (U.S,Canada, Japan) 8) Golf Around 400 Million Fans. (U.S, Canada, Europe) 9) Football 390-410 Million Fans. (U.S, Canada mainly) 10) Basketball Not more than 400M Fans. (U.S, Canada mainly)

Rethink your thoughts.

Soccer is apparently sooooooooo boring that 10X More people watch it..

Soccer is that popular because most of the world can't afford to play anything else.

Just because something is popular doesn't mean it is good.

Few Examples:
Brittany Spears
The Titanic movie
Paris Hilton
La Macarena
Soccer

Oh puhlease.

Besides, I like Titanic :(

Most people don't like it 'cos they've never watched proper footie (European football is nothing compared to English (Yes, I know England is in Europe) Premier League)

Or perhaps played it.

I kid, a bit. But I played soccer for about 12 years and it was fun. But I have to say I always thought American Football (throwball as you called it) was way way more fun to play and especially to watch. The same for Baseball and Basketball. Soccer is just too much running around or standing (as I was a goalie) and not enough scoring. Proper or not ;)

I suppose it's just opinions...

I for one think baseball is the most dreary sport to be invented, but I'm sure someone wants to bite my head off.

People who call it throwball are being stupid, round here we just call it "American Football" Which I think is suitable enough ;)

I admit baseball can be boring to watch but it is very fun to play. My bad about throwball I thought that was you, I should have taken two seconds to make sure ;)

But you are right this is all based on opinions, to each his/her own

1st of all congrats to Boston Celtics, they spent alot in order for them to win the championship, and because of that they have this Celtics Pride..if ever that Celtics didn't win the championship it's a big embarrassment in their part.
