What's up guys, got a PS3 yesterday, but no HD cables came with it. Just the basic red/white/yellow cords. What do I need to do? Do I need to purchase cables? Or just hook it up to my HD tv?
Thanks in advance!

You will need to purchase an HDMI Cable, or Component Cables if your TV doesnt take HDMI.
Go to www.monoprice.com and you can get an HDMI cable for $5 or less, when it would cost you $60+ to get one at a store.

You will need to purchase a HDMI or a Component is you want to see it in HD but if your not bothered just use composite cable.

You know we are getting a new thread like this every day now.... No offense but if you would have just looked in the stickies you would have seen the ASK a question thread there and you would have gotten a answer...
Yes you will need to purchase an HDMI cable or use component...the red green blue ones..
Also welcome to the PS3 family....:DD

It will work with those cables but the picture will not be HD feel free to use it until you get a HDMI cable.

okay, i got a problem with my HD. i have a 40 something inch TV, its HD ready and i have a HDMI cable. on my TV, it lets you know what resolution it is running off, and in the home screen and in booting it up, it is 1080i. nothing wrong there. however, when i load up a game, or watching a BLU-RAY DVD, it drops the resolution to 780 or something. i just want to now why its not playing games at the optimum resolution, and also how can i solve this problem
Thank you in advance,
