View Full Version : i cant store music in my PS3

i have a 1gb memory stick which i use to dragged and droped mp3 files in from my music folder of my pc. I want to be able to upload those songs into my PS3. :cool:

-i plugged the memory stick into the usb port #2. My controller is taking up slot #1.

-then in my PS3 menu, i look under MUSIC and it cant detect any files on the memory stick.

what am i doing wrong? :oops:

Did you make a file called "Music" on your memory stick? If not make one and put your songs in there and when you put the memory stick in your PS3 it should detect the songs. Then click triangle on the song you want and then select copy and your song will be on your PS3.

make sure the folder you make called music is type in with cap.

Are you sure cause on my memory stick my music folder is like "Music" and my PS3 detects it. So I think its just the first letter that has to have a capital.

thanks ill give that a shot. Does the same thing applies to photos, themes, and videos? i have to make folders for each in my memory stick in all CAPS?

Yes all folders have to in caps , MUSIC, PICTURE, VIDEO, THEME, etc.

you don't have to make any folders on the USB drive

under the appropriate XMB sub-menu (music/video/pictures) scroll down to the device and hit the Triangle then select Display All to view the drive's contents
