HELP with DVD's

I recently purchased a PS3 and it has never been able to read DVD's. I called Sony and they were worthless. The only options I have when I put a DVD in is "Search for Media Servers" and "BD Utility Options". Does anyone have a clue of what is wrong or is my system just broken.

P.S. It plays games just fine.

So what you are saying is that the DVD disc icon doesn't show under video?
That is odd... If you just got the PS3, exchange it for a new one, the PS3 system may be corrupted.
Before you return the PS3, try doing a system restore,( System Settings>Restore PS3 System) and see if that helps.
