some background info....when i got my hdtv i originally set the output of my ps3 to 720p. i didnt select 1080i or 1080p. idk why i just thought it looked better, more crisp. my tv is 720p natively anyway. its a sony bravia.
now for my problem. yesterday my power went out while i was playing tekken on my ps3. i turned it back on, it made some weird beeps, and it reset the display settings (which i thought was odd). anyway, i just did the auto setup, so now my ps3 was outputting 1080p. and i went back to playing tekken. and as soon as it loaded i was seeing all sorts of horizontal green lines scrolling up and down the screen. i quit to xmb and saw 1 or 2...tried a different game (pixeljunk monsters) and saw a ****ton.
i switched to 720p, and saw no lines so far. does anyone know what the problem might be? is it an upscale problem? something with the ps3 or maybe hdmi cable? is the power outage what caused it???
