The problem is when I play Music from my XMB the sound is always distorted (it sounds fuzzy). I convert music from my CDs at highest quality and my audio output is analog. My output can't be the problem because everything else on my PS3 sounds perfect: Blu-ray films, Games, videos saved on HDD. Also, when I play the same music through F@H it is not distorted! It doesn't make sense!

Has anyone had the same problem? Can anyone think of a reason this is happening? Hardware/software problem?
I really want to be able to play my music without turning my noisy and slow PC on, someone please help.

+everything I've got to the person who can solve this (including rep)

+rep for a clever suggestion - even if it doesn't solve my problem.

Thank you.

Thanks, that was exactly my problem! I can't believe my PS3 has been like this for so many months and I never checked that out.
Sorry about late reply, my xp PC just crashed and I could not boot it, so I had to reinstall xp. My PC is keeps doing this. O well, I'll live with it.

haha, had the same problem a week ago. I thought maybe i just played a bad quality mp3, but then they all sounded like that. I dunno why changing the volume with software would distort it to that degree, but from now on i'm only turning it up at the receiver/amp.
