An idea of mine *cough cough*

i have an idea in which i nicked off of gamefaq's.at the moment they are having a sort of tournament between games of the same era, they each go up against each other 1v1 and get voted on, the 1 that gets more votes goes to the next round and so on. i think we should take their idea and modify it a bit, there is simply 2 much to do when looking at all the gaming era's so maybe we should stick with this generation of games (ps2, xbox gc and pc(from about late 2000 onwards)). draw up a list of the games that stand out and put them in basic genres, then do poll's on which was a better game (if there is alot of games the first round or 2 could be 1v1v1 or 1v1v1v1 to cut down the numbers a bit.) of course it should be noted that the results mean nothing and are just a common opinion of people on this site and is just a bit of fun. of course if this idea is liked and the staff like it then there will still be alot of thinking about how it all works and what games should be put up to be done

as for the games well i think that we should think of all the 1's that stand out first then put them in genre and then even the numbers up. between us and maybe a few other ppl that will be easy

I like the idea. The way I would do it is by making a tournament like this:

>Basically you would have the First Round which was say 16 games then the top 8 go into quarter finals and play off 2 v 2.

>Then The final four would be voted for 2 v 2 until the Final game was chosen as the best game of the 21st Centaury so far or something like that.

But there's little point doing that till the forum is much more popular. However I'll keep in mind for the future.

yes of course
after we start hearing the real ps3 news at say the TGS (i dont think we will hear much at e3) and all the magazines get it in there this forums membership list will explode with people, when i say explode i mean when that happensthis forum will prob get 5 or even more new members a day, the speed at which this forum grows will only increse as it is the second biggest ps3 dedicated forum in english on the net, well im pretty sure of that anyway

Yah, I saw that too and it's not only being done by gamefaqs.com, it's also being done by gamespy.com. My point is is that it is probably being done by many review sites.

thanx for that information
however game faqs and gamespy wont be doing it forever and nor will any site, and its fun to have lots of these polls. my point being is that the fact plenty of sites do this sort of thing doesn’t really matter, and they only test what the people who go on those sites think. and anyway their results shouldn’t be taken seriously, its just nice to see what people think and its a bit of fun
