View Full Version : better of evils: some of our presidential candidates

I want to just give a few examples of that crap we have to choose from this fall in the United States.

McCain: Part of a group of politicians that laundered millions of dollars in the 1980s. Touted as war hero that spent years as a POV, but during that time game up hundreds of confidential US military secrets. (don't get me wrong, I would've probably squeeled like a rat too, but it's hard to not criticize when he touts this experience)

Clinton: Fundraising for NAFTA to only later say she was "[quietly against it]". Currently on trial with hubby Bill for frauding the US government out of hundreds of millions of dollars in false business deals with friends. No media outlets are covering the trial in California for some "odd" reason. Voted FOR funding in Iraq to only claim she is against it.

Obama: Some connections with obviously racist groups through his 20 year "spiritual advisor". Wrote a book declaring that "[all forms of free trade are good]" only to campaign in Ohio that he is against NAFTA and other free trade agreements currently in progress. Has voted 100s of times as "present" in the Senate (which basically means he doesn't want to give fuel to future adversaries by saying he is for or against anything). Voted FOR funding in Iraq only to claim he is against it.

Pork Barreling: (Google the Pork Report)

Obama: 10s of millions of dollars in pork sent back to Illinois as a senator.

Clinton: 100s of millions of dollars in pork sent back to NY.

McCain: 0 dollars of pork reportedly sent to Arizona.

These are just a few examples of what could be hundreds for these 3 candidates. So pick your poison. What do you guys think?

And if I'm incorrect with any fact, feel free to give me the correction.

I think that McCain is the lesser of the three evils to be honest. Basically, I like more things about him than I like about the other candidates. But, I don't REALLY like any of them.

I don't know what good he will be able to do anyway because majority of the Congress will very likely be liberal.

Here comes the death tax.

McCain definitely. I see no contest here*.

*Not basing my judgment off your post, but rather as a whole. I made my decision a long time ago.

I work in finance. You have no idea how on you are about taxes. If a democrat gets elected expect your taxes to almost double. And forget about inheritance.

Taxation is the power to destroy*- ergo it is leverage and a powerful tool to wield.

*As stated by the Supreme Court.

Precisely, forget about your inheritance. Many farmers in the past were forced to sell property because of the death tax, and how much they were forced to pay the government when the family member died. Not to mention all the other taxes that will either be formed or raised.

You talk as if peace is so easy to achieve Desden, and that we all love and frolic in warfare.

Umm... when did I say anything about war and peace? Maybe you forget that Congress overwhelmingly voted for this war.

Settling for any kind of evil is the epitome of idiocy.

True vision is being able to see the invisible.

An elegant way of speaking nothings there Carsonal.

1. Not voting is worse then voting for somebody who doesn't 100% line up with your ideals.

2. Anybody who can't tell that politicians always lie or hide about something are ignorant. However, there are few ways we can decisively determine what said politician is lying about and to what extent pre-election.

Well, Hillary Clinton is out of the race unless she gets the VP seat. Anyways Barack Obama for me.

I can't think of any good reasons to vote for Barack over McCain.

Not that I'm horribly enthused with McCain either.

Deep down, I know you want to.

Deep down I have suspicions as to why he's so crazy popular right now, and if I were to reveal atleast one of them, I'd probably get in trouble lol.

I have a vague idea of what you're saying and I agree. Because he's "different" than the norm.

Last time I asked my mom about this issue, she told me that she was voting for McCain because she hates Clinton and she doesn't want a Muslim running our country. I don't think our country could stand a change that big right now. There'd be racial tension everywhere and I'm pretty sure Obama would be assassinated soon after he got elected.
