The usb adapter on your PC is for your PC only as far as I understand. It is not a router but a connection point for your wireless router.
In my opinion it can not be done.

I dont get what your trying to say, if your hub isnt wireless, do you mean youd plug yout computer direcltly to the modem and use the Netgear thingy to broadcast a signal. If so, no. I dont think the USB adapter can act a router for your internet.

Ok your trying to share the internet through your desktop if I understand you correctly. Not sure if you will be able to actually enable that adapter to the point that the PS3 picks it up I don't think that this will work. I know you are going to have to go through your Internet Sharing Connection or Internet Connection Sharing on your desktop for starters. If it comes down to it, hit up Best Buy or something of the sort and pick up a linksys wireless g router for like $50.00

EDIT: if you have two ethernet adapters you can share your internet connection, but it will be hard wired.

Sounds like you're trying to make your PC an access point, which I think is possible but probably not with the piece of equipment you're talking about. That's a more complicated road you're talking about than just getting a wireless router anyways.

I know it's annoying when you are asking if something is possible and people just say "buy this thing", but honestly you're better off just picking up a $50 wireless router.

Should be able to, but you'll have to configure the desktop correctly.

There's a small USB gadget called wifi link, which is pluged to your PCs USB port thus sending your wired internet conection signal to your PS3 through a wireless signal.

Works like a charm...

im afraid what ur trying to do is a very complicted thing to do. You need to use each computer/laptop... as a connection point for the next to share. But since u also want to connect a ps3 then you will need to buy equipment specified for that job, look around on ebay or amazon. Good luck, ull need it lol.
