Well I purchased my ps3 about six months ago, everything been fine, but now the controller that came with the console is playing up.

My question is this, would I be able to use my hmv store warranty to just swap for a new controller, or would I need to swap my whole console to replace it?

I would use my Sony warranty, but the moment I use that, I cant use the store one anymore. And the stone warranty is handy because if my ps3 breaks I can instantly swap for a new one, instead of waiting a week with sony.

I would ring but its not open yet.

Well, each store's return/exchange policy is different. Your best bet would be to call the store and confirm.

Here's an idea. Call the store and ask them!

That is a fantastic idea, I agree, just call them up and see what their policies are. I would think in order to honor the warranty, you would have to give them the whole system, not just one part.
