I have been trying to get tversity running though my PS3 for over two weeks now and have come to conclusion i need to ask for help.

I am running Vista 64 bit SP1 with PS3 v2.35 both machines are connect by Ethernet cable to my speedtouch 780 router all recommended ports are allowed to the PS3. I have allowed port 41952 in the router to the Media server PC and have allowed exceptions in bitdefender total security for tversity and the mediaserver. Tversity is the latest version as well as ffdshow rev 1943 64 bit.

I can get tversity running through my Xbox 360 flawlessly this is also connected wired through the same router so I know it’s not a port or firewall issue. I do however have another laptop and dell tower connected wirelessly through the router

when i connect the PS3 to the tversity server I get the folders listed and can see the files but when I try and play the files i get a network error code 80710723 for the 1st attempt and on the 2nd attempt i get a DLNA 2104 error and have to reboot the PS3 before it can see the server again. uPnP is avaliable according to the PS3 and is NAT 2

I have followed many forum threads and have disabled the ac3 filter and have uninstalled all other codec's (vista codec pack) after uninstall windows media player wouldn’t play xvid files anymore so I have installed Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-2008-01-24 to overcome this as recommended on another forum link.

I can’t understand why the 360 would find and read the files ok (after the mpeg file update from Xbox live) but the PS3 wont. Most of my files are either divx or xvid.

I really want to be able to get sopcast running through the PS but can’t get over this hurdle please please has anyone else got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

sorry if i have posted in the wrong place

i have also noticed something else that might be relevant, under the tversity menu on the ps3 when you select a file if you press the triangle and go to information there is nothing under video codec its just - is this showing its not recognising the file format from tversity?
