Anyone seen this documentary on Blu Ray? I bought it awhile ago and been watching it off and on and the quality of the picture and the actual animals is just breath-taking.
It's amazing seeing how plants and animals survive and adapt to nature.

I got it for Christmas and I absolutely love it. A gorgeous way to learn and show off your system configuration.

Heh heh, had it for over a year and we still enjoy watching it.
It's some of the best $60 I ever spent :)

I've never been a fan of Nature films, but this one is fantastic. i love watching it. As for image quality, some scenes are only good to average, but there are many that go down as the best I've ever scene recorded. A few even look nearly 3D on my Samsung 650.

Cars and Ratatouille are the best i've seen....as far as live action is concerned....of the films i own...Black Hawk Down, The Patriot, The Pirates trilogy, the later Harry Potter films, Blade Runner....those are some of the best i've seen....

this is indeed amazing. not every shot is as clear as others but some are by far the best out on blu ray.
a must have for the blu ray collection

THis BD is really breath taking...I liked the dracula squid and all sea animals with special effects (colored light spectical). The nice drops out of a million. The thousands of births, man, nature is so amazing

Any of the Pixar films are drop dead gorgeous....but ill admit they have an unfair advantage...

The live action movies that i own that are better visually....and remember this is just my opinion

all 3 Pirates movies
Blade Runner
Black Hawk Down
The Patriot
Kingdom of Heaven
300 (although im not sure i care for the super intentionally grainy look)
Live Free or Die Hard (im 50/50 on this so ill put it here for arguments sake...)

Now don't get me wrong...Planet Earth is Demo material for sure....and the vastness of some of those shots are just epic breathtaking and nothing i've ever seen compares to them in that sense....but in sheer HD quality i think the films ive mentioned look better....

It was my first Blu Ray purchase and I absolutely love it. Has anyone on here seen the Galapogos Blu Ray? Was thinking about picking it up as well, as I think it is by the same team.

if you have insomnia. jus watch this and youll fall asleep in no time.
as HD demo material though its amazing, especially when they zoom out to show thousands of migrating birds or grazers.

After seeing it on Amazons top selling list for ages, I finally picked it back when they had it for like 50 dollars... I didn't expect much, but after I popped it in, I was in love! Great purchase, it was truly a thing of beauty!

It may not be the best pq/aq but it is definitely my favorite Bd. The footage alone is amazing.
