Interesting video, I predict flames in the very near future.

That video was pretty interesting but I didn't really see himself do anything particularly "bad". He doesn't really seem to have that much baggage so in my opinion they are trying to nit pick the tinest of details.

Also they are still coming into the association of Revernd Wright and he has denounced him and put himself at distance with him. I agree that this will get flamed and what not in the future.

I agree that Obama himself isn't any kind of nutbag. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs.
But the fact that he has associated himself with and accepted some fairly fanatical people and groups, says a lot to me.
If a White candidate had, let's say, "Hitler" as a middle name, I doubt he would be defended by liberals.
If a candidate had a preacher who belonged to the Ku Klux Klan, I'm sure people would not rush to dismiss.

May 13th, 2008, 11:24 PM
I mean the KKK were infamous for mistreatment of everyone that wasn't white and they went as far as to kill people of a different color of skin. Hitler was infamous for practically the same thing but only on a grand scale.

I don't really see how being tied to a church that has a "crazy" pastor is really fair.

I agree on that. Personally, I wouldn't wear an pin on my jacket just because I'm "supposed" to. And the hand over the heart? pfff. Just the one photo keeps comming up so i'm hardly concerned.

I think a lot of people are excited to have a black president. For the right, maybe the wrong reasons. There is a lot of wrong with Obama

Obama called that crazy pastor his "Mentor".
The only difference between KKK, Nazis and many Black Communist movements is that the KKK and Nazis made it as far as the "action" part.
As far as doctrine, all call for racism and genocide.
Regardless of current American liberalism, Black Power is just as racist as White Power. Not that neccessarily makes them evil, but allowing one race to express their power and to deny the other is the bad part.
I've known black seperatists and white. Each have their points.

the stuff about wright and cone was pretty interesting...
but at the end of the day... I really am not too concerned about the Church that Oprah calls her own...

And... as far as his wife goes... she explained her quote many times.
Personally it didn't even catch it when she said it until the news networks jumped all over it...
I like her too.... she is a proud, strong black woman who I think would do wonders with the inner city public schools in this country as First Lady...

I also agree with Obama saying that his admin would meet with Americas enemies as I believe the current "got sit in timeout" policy is stupid and flawed. (see Cuba, N. Korea, Iran, Syria)

That's what I want to hear. I assume you're black. You want to see blacks helped by the election of Obama. I just wish more people would admit to voting for Obama for racial reasons.
John McCain probably doesn't give a **** about the inner city. Neither do I. Thus, I have zero interest in Obama for president. The promise of "cahnge" is not enough to run a country on.

Luckily for you, you might get a president that is proud of his/your race. I doubt a white president has openly said that in a hundred years and never will again. Because, of course, it would be racist.

um... inner city schools are populated by white kids... in fact across the country they the majority of students in inner city schools are white...

yeah- that was a trap.

Ms. Obama is actually very passionate about the educational system in this country- again something she has stated many times.
I think she would do a great job helping all races get a better education and a better life.

If I remember correctly, Oprah stopped going to that church a while ago.

I don't care about his wife.

But, I think the video has a little bit of validity.

Edit: And I don't care WHO goes to that church.... the former pastor of that church is racist, plain and simple.

Doesn't matter man.... I am not calling Obama anything, but I think it is clear a double standard does exist. If a white man were to say similar things that Obama and his former pastor said, they would be labeled as racist, quickly ending any political career. I am not saying it's right/wrong or anything else, I am just simply stating what should be obvious to anyone that pays attention.

What is that vid talking about not wearing a pin? He wore it when he was talking to vets.

Most people who support obama don't even know much about him. While I don't know what he really believe their is indeed a pattern of questionable actions, but who knows.

Oh yeah and I second that if a white person said the racial comments that obama has said they would be gone a buried.

Yeah, the pin thing... big deal. Also, as a military vet, at times I have goofed not saluting when I should have, normally because I am thinking of something at that point in time, or I am half asleep, any number of reasons. I am not questioning these things, his name, his wife, or things of that nature.

I am looking to things like who he keeps close to him, what those people stand for, his voting record (or lack there of).... those things are important, not whether or not he wore a pin at some point in time.

Edit: one thing I find interesting, both Obama and Clinton vote party line nearly 98% of the time, while McCain only about 88% of the time.

While true that most inner city children may be white......what the point of looking at the racial inequality of education and poverty levels are how many of each color are there, but the proportion in each color. There is a much larger percentage of all black children in the US that attend underfunded inner city schools that there is comparing to white children.

So don't say you trapped somebody when they made a valid argument.

Tying in the teachings of Cones, the Black Panthers (also tied to his pastor), and the flag in Barack's Houston office show that there are some real connections to racist people/groups.

Obviously Obama doesn't have this direct connection to these racists, but there is a connection through his "spiritual mentor".

However, this video was edited for the soul purpose of putting people against Barack Obama. So take it with a grain of salt. Everything presented in the video was a fact.....a fact that was shaped in a way to be against Obama.

So when you watch the video, take away what is true, and what is editing to make you think a certain way.

I will say that I truly think Obama is not a good leader. Beside possible ties with largely racist groups, voting "present" on most of his senatorial votes instead of giving his opinion, and refusing to acknowledge respect for our country (it's ok to not put your hand over you heart during the national anthem, but he has expressed specifically that he does not want to respect US traditions like this)......my biggest concern is his lack of ethics.

I am going to create a thread on that now, for all candidates, so if you want, check it out and discuss.

but who think in terms of percentages?

my point is that more white people stand to gain from "equality education" than african americans.

If you want to reduce crime, poverty, ect. Then improve the education system... period.
Everyone benefits... not just one race.

JonJon made the mistake of thinking I am pro "education reform" b/c I want to look out for African-Americans.
Thus, he fell into the trap.

well, I think that just about everyone thinks in terms of percentages really.....depending on what they want to present anyway.

I agree with you whole heartidly that improving education should be our nation's #1 priority. It makes everything better. I'm disgusted with my hometown's current collapse after talking with my parents' back home. Evidentally every levy has been turned down and so they haven't bought a new text book in something like 4 years, athletic programs are getting cut, and the teaching staff has dropped something like 25%. It's pathetic.

And sorry for misreading your "trap" comment. Thought you were trying to say something else. However, I do see his point somewhat. There are a lot of people in our country that will vote for Obama strictly because of his race. There are a lot on the other sprectrum that will ignore him because of it. Our country is still very racist, which disgusts me. But programs such a equal opportunity and others do not even the playing field as much as promote these racist beliefs in my opinion.

Ok, went on a tangent, but basically, I agree with you on education. We need a better system. However, I don't really think any of our candidates have it.

Obama is a liar and an extremist for the left. His voting record shows that he is on the extreme left and that in itself is very scary.

What is the date? June 10th? By July 10th there will be so much more crap out on Obama, let alone November.

Let Michelle reiterate that Michelle said...

But obviously see themselves as victims and underdogs in the race game.

Not a racist, I was just wondering if you had a hidden agenda and thought I would ask. If thats not the case, all you had to do was explain it, but instead you had to get all defensive about it and thats fine. Thats your prerogative, but if the reason you dislike Obama is because of his ethnicity, then I really wish you would open your eyes beyond that of color. If not, then excuse me for misinterpreting what I know to be a "symbol" of racism behind your name.
