I got a party coming up at the end of the month and mine are generally known for having good movies. Problem is though I can't really think of anything. I need something that will trump Robocop, from last year, so that's going to be a tough nut to crack.
As we all know party movies are ones with good bits of action, not too much depth and hopefully bearable acting.
One of my mates has not seen Starship Troopers yet, so we have agreed to break him in with that at the party. I was also thinking of playing Aliens because a fair portion of my friends haven't seen that.
After that though, I'm stumped. So what good movies have you guys seen at a party that probably wouldn't have been good if you watched it without company?

A party watching movies? mmmm.. I take it you are all actually watching the movie and it's not just a big background projection while music is playing?
Anyway, the matrix is a great film when friends get together. (ladies need not apply.)
Something with Zombies in is always a treat, what about shaun of the dead for humour as well? The two suggested are good choices although Aliens is quite long. You all sound like veteran film seekers so doesn't sound like it will be an issue.
Anything from the nam era doesn't hurt and the new Rambo movie was a blast I thought if you take it as read that this is actually a Rambo film and not some deep moving piece on the horrors of war with a love interest.
I always thought that if you could put together a series of classic clips from a range of movies (the best bits) that would make for great nostalgic viewing without having to watch the entire thing. That way you could cover 20-50 films in a single sitting, the best fight scenes, car chases, dialouge. (I'll be back.)

Early John Woo films with Chow Yun Fat like Hard Boiled and The Killer or you could go with:
Iron Monkey
Blade 2
Michael Bay films...

Get your hands on Police Story (with Jackie Chan). dude! The action's crazy, and the writing's actually pretty funny. It's pretty old, but I think it's great.

Yes
When Grindhouse came out on dvd they separated the 2 movies and made both longer which is awesome because i loved Planet Terror and hated Death Proof.
Only bad thing is that on Planet Terror the only fake trailer on the dvd is Machete which was the best one imo but i would have liked to have them all.

Never Boondock Saints because its a perfect example of a love it or hate it movie. Everyone i have ever talked to about this movie either thought it was complete crap or an award winner. So i dont suggest it unless everyone has already seen it and liked it.

Well in the making of it on tv Tarrantino said he wanted to make Kurt Russel a badass again but when i saw the movie it was pretty much people driving around and Kurt cries like a little baby. As you can see im a Kurt Russel fan and making him like that is blasphemy.
So thats why i hated it.
