Does anyone else have this from retail ? I just received mine, it was wrapped, and security seal was perfectly intact. However, when I opened it, there is nothing in the case, except the disc. No inserts, etc. Is this normal ?

Yeah... you don't buy very many Blu-ray? They pretty much never come with anything, 99% of them come with an advertisement or something or a little piece of paper about updating your player.... there are basically never any inserts or anything.

I like inserts. They make the cases seem more worthwhile and welcoming :P
It's like a game with no manual......I hate it.

what he said...The most I have ever received with a blu-ray movie is a slip of paper advertising more blu-ray movies on it... haha and it was front only...no back

well, for me it's a lot lol, 27 so far hehe. I just really never paid attention to it. I went back through my small collection, and you're right of course. The majority of them don't have anything in them. The Disney movies all have the codes and such.
Stupid question lol.

Meh, its not a dumb question really...... people ask often about that. I think its a move to make consumers think everything is IN the disc.. or rather ON the disc.. booklets and stuff "are so DVD gen"..... kind of thing.

I had something happen to me with Cars on Blu-Ray
I purchased it at a local Circuit City and it was totally sealed and new..although the lower left corner wrapping was SLIGHTLY coming off...no big deal
I get home and theres no DISC...grrrr
I was mad
so I took it back and explained to them what happened
they gave me store credit since I picked up the last copy
im thinking in my situation someone bought it...undone the wrapping ever so slightly OR re-did it(they can its easy if you have the equipment) swiped the disc and returned it
OR
they might of actually forgotten to put the disc in lol
sucks I know
but yea they dont put anything in it really
which i dont really like anyways

Yea, I'm relatively knew to the BD scene, so I will be staring in the film "I R Newb" for a while lol. Thanks for understanding.

Considering the price we pay for Blu Ray, you would think that there would be some insert. I just purchased The Departed and all it has is a leaflet with scene numbers/names on it! I also purchased Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, 30th anniversary jobba and that has a booklet and poster on it.
What gives!

Why does anyone want inserts? Unless its a special addition or something like a collectors box then why do you want to see chapters and a picture???? I have to agree, I think inserts are "DVD generation"...... all interactive stuff and menus and information is ON the disc.

It's a nice finishing touch.

No it isn't, they finally realized that its a waste of paper, when you open the movie up and start watching the actual movie you can look at chapters, extras, PiP... all while the movie is playing, this is what has replaced a single piece of glossy paper..... which is better? The insert is totally pointless. Especially considering what you get on the disc.

Yes indeed, the rise of the "pop-up" menu means you never have to read a piece of paper to figure out what chapter you want to go to, you can do it on screen while the movie is playing :)

I like reading stuff, advertising or whatever. When I got the spiderman 3 BD, it came with a leaflet saying what else was on BR, some things I didn't know about and then purchased.
