Just as the tittle says what is your favorite band of all time and why?
Mine are Green Day, If listened to them ever since Warning. They'r new stuff keeps getting better and better. Their best album has got to me American Idiot by far. Not because of the Anti Bush messages but because its just plain damn good music.

Switchfoot by a country mile, only band I havent phased out of listening to, my taste in music changes alot so Ill be into a band for 1 or 2 months then fade out of liking them for a few months and move on to another band, but after 5 years of listening to them Switchfoot are the only band I haven't faded out.

System of a Down.....wow. Just amazing music. All their solo stuff also, like Serj's album and Daron's new band Scars on Broadway, the Axis of Justice (Serj) Project, and the album Serj produced with some other Armenian guy (Album=Serart).
System of a Down owns every other band ever.

I don't know how people can say "Favorite band of all time". Mine fluctuates so often, it's freaky.
Let's start in order - Simple Plan (ugh), then it was Linkin Park, then it was System of a Down, then it was Breaking Benjamin, then it was Disturbed, right now it's Muse.

At the moment it's Lamb Of God, no other band has had an effect on me now as GNR did when I was younger, I mean GNR is up there for me too but right now it's L.O.G....

Rage Against the Machine is number one and have been for a year i think, i don't think my love for them will ever fade
But there are three other bands that hold a special place in my heart, Muse, Alice in chains and Black Sabbath

I don't think I have a number one favorite, but I can always listen to Green Day, so they're definitely up there. Of all the bands I do listen to, I have more of their albums than anyone else, and I love their music. I wonder, are they following up on American Idiot?

Metallica
I have seen them 6 times in concert and been a member of the club for over 12 years. My first Metallica show was actually front row because of tickets through the club, freaking awesome. Black Album is the best by far, hoping the new one will change that.

THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. Love that band to pieces John Frusciante is one of the top 10 guitarists ever, and FLEA IS the best Bass guitarist to live. My next would be either Radiohead or Audioslave, Chris Cornell and Yorke both have amazing voices.

Chris Cornell is one of the best singers around. I loved him in audioslave and on the James Bond theme " You know my name"

He was amazing in the bands first album Audioslave, I wonder what happened in Out of Excile and Revelations though....he kinda went "soft" which is why the band broke....
I don't mind now that Rage Against the Machine is on tour. How i wish i could go to one of their concerts....

Audioslave didn't break up because Cornell "went soft." Cornell left for a few reasons; one being personality conflicts, probably with Tom Morello, another because "Chris was unhappy with the financial arrangement within the group." Also, Cornell said, "I was tired of what ended up seeming like political negotiations toward how we were gonna do Audioslave business and getting nowhere with it."
It also didn't help that one of the band members, again probably Tom Morello, rearranged atleast one song on 'Revelations' without Cornell's knowledge.

My favourite band has had an interesting history, it changes every year or 2 as I get bored of the catalogue and voice/sound.
Nirvana, pearl jam, manic street preachers, elliott smith, harvey danger, tool, radiohead, the beatles - they've all been my favourite bands in the past. But at the minute, and for the past year or more, there has only been one band that comes close, and for 5 months, the only band on my mp3 player (mostly because I only listen to music when running, and there's just one band that increases my energy levels like this).
BAD RELIGION!
The passion of the singing and lyrics, just really inspire and thrill me. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npvI00KOO0g) is my favourite song atm.
I noticed this yesterday in one of their songs that is quite prescient!
...haze
More a question than a curse
How could hell be any worse?
The flames are stunning
The cameras running
So take warning

TOOL by a long shot.
But...you say Maynard as the god? Oh yeah, Maynard's awesome, but Justin Chanchellor is the best bassist I know. And Danny Carey is pure genius; for example listen to Ticks and Leeches; he basically composes and melodizes the piece with his drums. Now that's some ****!8)

it was funny actually, the Korn crowd were like 'the **** is goin' on here' o.O , as Kyo launched himself around the stage and scratched his chest til it bled
