Hey, I was wondering if anybody out there is a giant Muse fan, like me.
I'm actually looking for some new songs from them, but I'm finding it harder to find them since I already have, like, 22 of their songs on my iPod.

The list is:
Apocalypse Please
Assassin
Bliss
Butterflies and Hurricanes
Citizen Erased
City of Delusion
Dead Star
Exo-Politics
Feeling Good
Glorious
Hysteria
In Your World
Knights of Cydonia
Map of the Problematique
New Born
Plug In Baby
Starlight
Stockholm Syndrome
Supermassive Black Hole
The Groove
Thoughts of a Dieing Atheist
Time is Running Out

Also, if you just wish to discuss Muse in general, please do so here.

I have 6 of there songs on iTunes, need to see what other ones I like. I like the music that they put out and heard that Hysteria is coming to Rock Band which is awesome. Of course somethings can change but it would be nice to have it for the game.

Yes I am a giant Muse fan, I have all their albums, and I have seen them live. Lol.

The first album you should get is Origin of Symmetry. Then Showbiz IMO. Also, the Hullabaloo live DVD is amazing, I definately recommend that one.

Some of my favourite songs not on the list are:-

Hyper Music
Micro Cuts
Sunburn
Space Dementia
Muscle Museum
Hate This and I'll Love You

Check out Radiohead too, if you haven't already.

I like Muse but I'm not a huge fan of them. I got both their albums which consists of 26 songs. My favourite song from them has to be Starlight.

No I didn't actually, and like I said I'm not a huge fan of Muse so I don't think I'll bother getting all of their albums. Needless to say though, I still like some of their music.

Radiohead sounds too much like Muse to me (but I realize that in terms of timing, Muse should technically sound like Radiohead) and I've been listening to plenty of new bands, sorting through what I like and what I don't like. I really don't want to deal with another one.

I'll probably DL some Radiohead in the future though.

Thanks for that list there, I'll download them all and I think I'll like them.

Does anyone here really like Dead Star by Muse? I heard of this song on the Rock Band forums, and holy crap. It blew me away when I got it a week ago. Such powerful lyrics and bass riffs.

Apparently Muse were trying to sound like Radiohead in their first couple of albums, then they evolved their music which most 'hardcore' Muse fans hated. I love Radiohead but cant seem to get into Muse, I like Starlight and Feeling Good but thats about it.

@OP: Tsp is a good song, it's from the album Absolution. Sing For Absolution is also good (same album)

I'm not a giant Muse fan, but I find about half / two fifths of their songs to be good/decent. The other half is too whiny :/

Yeah Dead Star is a great song. The version on the Hullabaloo DVD is the same as on the Hullabaloo CD disc 2, and the studio version is on disc 1 of Hullabaloo. You've probably heard the live version, the studio version is way different.

Sounds like i'm a hardcore Muse fan lol, it's not that I hate their new music, it's just that their old stuff has more feeling and energy, IMO.

I was happy to see Muse fans here, and not just the ones who've played Knights of Cydonia on GH. I got to see their concert in Melbourne when I was in Australia recently, and it was absolutely phenomenal -- anyone else here seen them in concert? Kinda life-changing.

Anyway, I wanted to add Invincible and Unintended to the list. They're kind of weird ones, in that they're not as "hard" as some of their other songs. Unintended in particular has a really soft, eerie feel, and definitely gave me chills the first few times I heard it. Invincible has a fantastic build, and is even better in concert. Go check out the Youtube music videos -- Muse as awesome (and utterly bizarre) music videos.

I'll try unintended, I like Muse's soft songs. Heard "Endlessly"?

I think Invincible might be one of those ones that you have to experience live. I didn't really like it that much (compared to like... Starlight or Plug In Baby or something) the first time I heard it, but when I saw it in concert it was toootally different.

I looove Endlessly. Other Muse fans tend not to, though, because it's different from their usual style, so I didn't mention it. I love the build in it.

"The Small Print" is what it stands for (yay to me for being a fast replier \o/) if you haven't investigated the name

and I see now that you already have it listed ^^;

Sorry for not being clearer, but I'm always refering to it as tsp for some reason and forget that it actually has a name.

I still think that there a lot of songs that trump it, but Space Dementia is part of an excellent album anyway.

Sorry to revive a three week-old thread, but I just wanted to post that I now officially addicted to Muse.
I have a grand total of 43 songs on my iPod. The total playtime is almost exactly 3 hours, or so iTunes says.
I also wanted more people to discuss this amazing band...

Do you mean 43 Muse songs are songs including muse tracks???

The best song by muse I have heard is probably Hysteria, I only have the album 'Black holes and revolutions', I generally don't like albums that are quite short but the some of the music on the album is truly magnificant my favourite on it is 'Exo-politics' with 'Map of the problematique' a close second.

I think Hysteria is coming out on Rock Band (or has come out, uncertain which). I got soooo excited when I heard about that. There aren't many songs on that game I actually like/enjoy playing or singing... but this will definitely be one of them!

You call yourself a giant Muse fan but call Starlight "a poor song"?

This is why I hate reading what fans and critics have to say, they hate on even the things they love. I never get why people do that.

I am a giant Muse fan, yes I have seen them live and I can play all their songs on guitar and drums. And I love ALL their work. Black Holes and Revelations is my favourite album. It's a classic rock album that will stand the test of time in 30 years.

The paino work used in Absolution is pure mastery.

Well it's just a personal opinion. It's classic in my eyes. It's up there with Sgt Pepper and Revolver and Nevermind and all those classic albums. Absolution is also pretty great, I guess I like the cohesiveness of Black Holes and Revelations more, it's got that swirling rock trip concept album thing going right through it, takes you on a journey, one that humanity may soon face (false flag alien invasion, surrendering all our rights upon an economic collapse, the fall of the elite, starting society anew with new paradigms), it has a flow that reminds me a lot of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. And Knights of Cydonia - a homage to Joe Meek and The Tornados!! I take it you are all aware that George Bellamy (Matthew's dad) was the rhythm guitarist in The Tornados! And with Joe Meek believing he received the melody to Telstar directly from his ET friends, all these inspirations come together and form a fittingly powerful and unique finale for the album.

No doubt the piano performances on that Absolution album were absolutely brilliant - but it's just another work of art in its own right... it doesn't "kick butt over" any other album.. and I'm sure the Muse guys would agree. Why should it be a competition? Why do people have to get all high and mighty over which album is better than the others? I don't get it. Music is not a beauty pageant.

I prefer Black Holes and Revelations, though I'm a relatively new Muse fan, so I'm far more used to that album than the others. I may change my preferences later, but right now Starlight is one of my favorite songs ever, not just among Muse songs. :D
