Onkyo TXSR606 Reciever

I'm looking for a new surround sound system and one of the suggestions for my budget was the Onkyo 605 or its successor the Onkyo 606. I contacted Onkyo Europe directly to find out a firm release date for the 606 and the best they can tell me is:

Thank you for your interest in Onkyo products. We are expecting the TXSR606 to be released some time in May, But currently at the moment I do not have an exact date as of yet, I can only advise you ask your local dealer to contact you once the product is available to purchase.

I was hoping it would be here towards the end of April as previously stated. Is it worth holding off for or should I just go for the 605?

If there is a price difference, (which im thinking will be, 606 being more expensive) does the extra features justify the price difference?

Do you think that the extra features will benefit you? (will you use those extra features)
If the answer is a solid "Yes", then IMO, i would wait.
If the answer is "No", then the 605 is a solid piece of hardware for the money

Upscaling (although not sure to how high)
Compressed music enhancer.and as far as i know, it is priced the same as the 605.

I just checked Amazon, they have it priced at $499 right now, whereas the 605 is $399. Once the x06 models are released, I would think the x05's would go down even further in price.

I checked a few sites for release dates, and some said the end of April, some said May...one even said March, but obviously that isn't true. But they're all around right now, so I would assume it's coming out sometime in the next month or two.

make sure you around shoponkyo.com they have factory refurbished receivers (from Onkyo themselves) that sell for much lower prices ($299 for the 605). and still come with a 1 year warranty.

The lowest I've seen a refurbished 605 for on shoponkyo is $339, when you sign up on their site. But I will admit, that warranty is a pretty good deal.

I would just wait for the onkyo 606, since it has 10 more watts per channel and having an extra HDMI port is always nice.

I got my 705 from them about a month back, through Amazon. They shipped quickly and it was brand new in box. No complaints here.
