For all of those interested in the ability to use a universal remote with your PS3 unit along with the rest of your home theater equipment that is not bluetooth compatible, it finally appears that you have an easy solution. An IR remote is hitting shelves later in May or early June that comes with a handy USB dongle for the PS3. For the Logitech Harmony users that will be super easy to teach your remote the commands to use with the PS3. This remote is available for preorder at BestBuy.

You can already get that remote from amazon and most other places can't you? I'm sure I've seen it before....
EDIT: you can buy in America here - http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-Blu-Wave-Remote/dp/B000R5H7KE - not sure if amazon will ship to UK etc.

Thanks for that find. I feel stupid for not seeing that myself but I'm glad I don't have to wait. +rep

Until they release a Bluetooth one they can keep it. I hate "dongles". I am fine with my PS3 remote and my MX850 for now.

Hopefully Logitech or Sony will release a universal remote that is BT and IR capable.

Someone will make one eventually. I would bet on Logitech being the first, but I hope its Universal.
