Hi

I have a PS3 and every time I play a blu ray movie, press stop and then play again it starts from the beginning of the movie. Is this normal? How do I prevent from happening?

Have you tried recently? There was an update that was supposed to make all Blu-rays resume from the point where you left off..

Have you updated to the most recent firmware?

It was for DVD's as well...and honestly, they didn't do it very well. It usually always just starts up at the beginning (at least on TV series disks thats how it works)

Oh, I didn't know that. But I did take a movie out partway through, then started watching another one. When I put the first movie back in it went right where it left off!

So I figured it was like how the videos resume from XMB.

Yes, I believe thats what the plan was. Since the last update, all disc content should start at the last stopped location whether the disc remains in the console or not. Im not sure how many movies can be stored or for how long but on a PC for example when youre using Media Player, I dont think it ever forgets.

Im glad they fixed this. It was one of my only problems with the PS3.
