Older/Mature Gamers

Hey Guys/Gals,
I was wondering if any of you have found older gamers to play with on-line at night. I play with a bunch of my friends on the 360 but I have not been able to hook up with the same type on the PS3.

I hate playing with foul mouthed young kids. It doesn't make the game an enjoyable experience. I don't want to hear the latest rap album on my mic (or even worse, a person trying to rap/sing the previously mentioned song), nor do I want to hear about my mom, or any other of my family members. I know you can mute the person, but I want to actually interact with the people I am playing with, talk to them, get to know them a bit better.

My ideal room is a bunch of people who are over 30, have a mortgage, kids, significant other, car loans, steady career, etc....

I am playing Resistance right now only because it is the only shooting game I own and play online with.

I have been on LIVE for 5 years so I have plenty of established friends, but I have not played online with a PS since the days of SOCOM, so you can imagine I really do not have many friends on the PSN.

I think I qualify. I'm 31, I'm leasing my house, raising someone elses kids, and probably going to get fired if I don't get off these forums and actually do some work today. Also, I like all music, including rap but NOT during online play, and the only time singing is okay is if you are playing Singstar...sometimes not even then.

I'm looking to join a 30+ clan in time for Socom Confrontation. I'm more of a casual gamer, and I'm not interested in an ultra competitive, get 50 kills a game or you're out clan. I'd rather just play with cool people. All of my shortcomings in FPS games are more than made up for in Street Fighter, anyway.

I was practically raised in the arcade and I never cared for PC games. That's probably why I lean towards Sony and Nintendo when it comes to consoles. Socom is really the only shooter I'm addicted to. I do play Warhawk, COD4, and a few other shooters on occasion. I also play High Stakes Poker, Madden, Mortal Kombat 2, and a few other games online (including Singstar).

We started out as a clan but have evolved into a gaming community. our clan seperated into 3 groups in order to fill the needs of our members. Some wanted to get into gamebattles, some wanted to switch to a newer War game, then there's my group that wanted to start a gaming community. We're known as the Sandlot and are in the early stages of creating this Forum/Group.

You dont need any special stats to join. Just play the games and visit forum almost daily. Be cordial to all members, play as a team, and have fun. If you game everyday and are lookin for a group of friends to tear up gaming w/ this may be the place for you. We use the Forum to communicate events and shoot the breeze as to get to know each other. There is about 30 of us right now and i'd say at least 10 of them are like brothers to me and i have been gaming w/ for over 10 months.

I agree with you that not all younger players misbehave. Unfortunately however, those with a good attitude appear to be in the minority where online gaming is concerned.

This is why mature players seek each other out. Consider this, they don't do it because they don't want to play alongside the younger generation. They do it because they are effectively forced to.

Personally, I don't come home from work to relax later in the evening for the precious one or two free hours I have to be forced to listen to children badmouth others for kicks.

A bit of friendly banter is one thing, but the constant barrage of abuse is unnacceptable.
