I stayed up till 1:00AM to watch states vs Russia, I wanted Russia to win because states had such a strong team(Didn't want Canada to lose to states in finals) The problem the American team had is that they werent conditioned good enough, they suffered fatigue by the time they played Russia which in my opinion caused them to lose so badly and then loss to finland who U.S.A should of had no problems against. I also sadly could only watch half the Canada vs Russia game due to my own hockey but I saw Canada's first 4 goals. I feel bad for the Russian goalie it is the second gold medal game for him and both games he chocked last year it was 6-2 now it is 5-0 He collapsed on the ice crying, I feel bad for the guy. Canada who was the under dog this year everyone thought was going to loose because all our 19 year olds were moved up to the NHL exp. sidney crosby but Canada's power line all made up of 19 year olds(God I know there names!! why can't I remember them I just said it 10 minutes ago)

Canada's one problem in this tournament was that they relied on one line to score all the goals, but Canada had a really powerfull defensive pair with staal and porter(or somthing like that) all in all I kinda blame the Russian goalie for this one, I also things would of turned out diff if Russia hadn't had that one goal dis-allowed, then again the Reff did more then make up for it to the russians by letting them off penaltys.

Canada owned good. Love the shutouts by Justin Pogge (hes got my name! Justin P. and i also play goalie! - last names different though :P ). I also live in Vancouver and a lot of my friend went to that game. i wanted to go :( . And the Canucks won tonight! whoo! man they sucked bad on their last 8 games.

I am happy canada got the gold though esp. since they were under rated and ended up just whOOp'n now we just need the Olympics Team's to Get the Gold haha Womens and Mens teams at that..

What do I think about the world tour? well for one coyotes coach is wayne gretzky so he will is probably going to help pic the players for the team like he does with almost all of Canada's hockey teams. My problem with team Canada right now is some of the pics, for example wade redden, he is a average defense in my opinion and yet he is playing for team Canada, I honestly don't think he is worth representing Canada, sadly we wont see crosby playing for Canada, he was a player I really wanted to see play, but it is his first year in the NHL. I honestly havent been keeping to close a eye on the NHL world tour, States and Canada will both as always be strong competitors, but I have heard some good things about russia with some good players coming from the russian super league.

Canada was more then underated in the world cup, they were complete underdogs, hell I didn't even think they would go far, bronze at most I gave them. Team America and Russia were the favourites in this tournament due to the age of the magority of there players being 19, while Canada had very few because we lost alot of them to the NHL, sidney crosby could of came back but he was to busy with penguins, if I were crosby I would of said screw it and represent my country but oh well, I guess penguins pay more then juniours do.
Oh and yes I am definatly from Canada.

Some other sad news is that Ottawa senators lost to Boston bruins 4-2, it was 3-2 so Ottawa pulled the goalie in hopes of scoring another goal, turned out not to work. Ottawa was missing Jason spezza and Daniel alffredson though, to key players for the team Daniel got hit in the ribs by one of Chara's slap shots(arguably the best slap shot in NHL) and Jason has some pulled muscle's in his back I believe.. oh and Ottawa was missing Havlat a very under rated rated player, who is most likely gone till the playoffs due to I think a knea injury, only about 50% sure though.

Toronto's where it's at!! Cujo's good though, my favourite goalie in the NHL.

But yeah the junior game was great, but I also found the Canada vs. Finland game to be very interesting, since both goalies have been drafted by the Maple Leafs. The whole tournament was great though, but I missed the first period because of my own hockey game (made a glove save very similar to Pogge's in that game too :D ).

I honestly didn't think pogge was up to NHL goal tending untill I saw him in the russian game, he caught a deflected pluck, how the hell he did that I don't know, maybe it was a fluke but eaither way Pogge in my eye's is now NHL worthy especially since he only allowed 6 goals in during the whole tournament. Pogge does owe his succes alot to the defensive pair staal and porter though. I have never seen such a good defensive pair ever, Staal is a offensive defensive wile porter will cover up for everyone of staals mistakes, for example if stall pinches to much and a player get's by him, there is porter ready to take the man down.

I think a large part of Canada's win over Russia is owed to thier coach sutter. He saw Russia had alot of hot headed players during the U.S.A Vs Russia game and he used it to his advantage, he got players like Downie to get right in the russian players face and caused Russia to take alot of stupid penaltys and in my opinion got Canada the win considering 3 of Canada's goals were powerplay goals. I missed half the second and all the 3rd for a hockey practice, I also missed Ottawa's game but it wasnt much to look forward to though. You have never watched hockey till you watch it in HD. Man HD games look sweet.
An interesting thing about sutter is that it is his second gold medal win and he has the record for the most international tournament wins with 11 last year and 13 this year with 0 losses.
By the way Chris you probably hate my Avatar don't you?
